Olde Towne Hall Theatre in North Ridgeville, Ohio is looking for a talented new director for their 2016 production of "Fiddler on the Roof." Previous directing experience of major musicals is a must! Directors will be responsible for picking a musical director, choreographer, costumer and cast, coordinating rehearsals, maintaining the budget, blocking, light and sound coordination with tech director, and other tasks as needed. Auditions are open to children aged 6-18.* *Audition Requirements: * Music Audition: 18-22 bars of a song in the style of the show. You may sing a Disney song, however we ask that it is not from Beauty and the Beast, Jr. We will also have you sing scales to determine your range, and may ask you to sing a portion from the show. The Dark Room is an ongoing event held on the second Tuesday of each month. The Dark Room affords emerging and veteran playwrights the space and resources to develop new works. It offers a venue to workshop plays, novels, poems, or any other written work in a supportive, yet critical environment. *Tuesday, May 12th* The Church at CPT (Just east of the Gordon Square Theatre Box Office) Cleveland Public Theatre 6407 Detroit Ave, Cleveland, OH 44102 *7:00pm: *Sign-up begins for writers and actors (space is limited). Writers names will be drawn randomly at 7:15pm to determine whose work will be presented. *Olmsted Performing Arts Announces* *Olmsted Performing Arts Annual Scholarship Program* The Olmsted Performing Arts Scholarship Program has been established to provide financial assistance to children ages 18 months to 18 years to further or begin their education of the arts. In alignment with Olmsted Performing Arts’ Mission Statement <http://www.olmstedperformingarts.com/about/>, we seek to provide the technical skills of each craft but to also build character, confidence, relationships, and encourage creative expression. A minimum of 3 scholarships will be provided, 2 need-based and 1 desire-based, each scholarship period. Additional scholarships will be contingent on outside support. The recipient of the scholarship will receive 1 class in the department of their choice for the fall, spring and summer session. If the recipient chooses to audition for a production and are cast during the scholarship period, their production fee will be waived. This year's event celebrates the life-long connections that are made to enhance the lives of family, self, and community while interlacing a theatrical infusion of dance, poetry, drumming and song from June 20th to June 21st. Saturday and Sunday features a community-wide African dance and drum conference with master teachers from Senegal, Mali, Guinea, Ivory Coast and the United States. Saturday night features “Connections” – a Juneteenth Concert performance choreographed and produced by noted artist, choreographer and dancer Talise Campbell. Cleveland's own Djapo Cultural Arts Institute will join master teachers and area performers for a moving tribute in celebration of our continuing legacy, conceivable through our connections made through our rising journey.
