The Arc of Ohio/Stark County will be having their Premier Event Fund Raiser on Friday, September 25th with dress rehearsal on Thursday, September 24th both in the evening at First Christian Church in Canton, Ohio. The guest artist is James Durbin, American Idol Finalist from Season 10. In addition to his concert, James will be performing with some of our talented individuals who happen to have developmental disabilities. We are interested in securing a signing choir who will sign one of his songs as he performs it live... (rehearsals tba depending on availability) We also would like to add 2 talented performers with DD who can sing, dance, or play an instrument or has a very special talent they would like to showcase. SYNOPSIS: William Shakespeare's tragedy of Macbeth will be onstage fall 2015. Macbeth is Shakespeare's shortest tragedy, and tells the story of a brave Scottish general named Macbeth who receives a prophecy from a trio of witches that one day he will become King of Scotland. The play dramatizes the corrosive psychological and political effects produced when evil is chosen as a way to fulfill the ambition for power. In our production, we take this classic tale of human nature and set it inside a Rubber Factory around the end of the Great War (WWI), and ending around the great depression. As the play progresses we will see the transformation of the Macbeth's from workers, to leaders, to warriors. Come to The Indie Gathering International Film Festival August 27-30. The event will be held at The Clarion Inn & Conference Center in Hudson, OH - 6625 Dean Memorial Parkway. In addition to networking and monologue competition, there are many opportunities for actors. Talent representative Beth Hall will be in attendance and vending at the event. She runs Hall Talent + Development and is also a talent scout for PCG Talent. Casting will also be going on at the event for films like "Letters to Daniel". Screenwriter Amy McCorkle will be following up her award-winning script, novel and one-woman show with a narrative feature film, and she is casting for this at the event.
