Playwrights Local 4181 Announces Open Auditions for TO THE ORCHARD Tuesday, Jan. 26, 2016, 7-10pm Dancing Wheels Company and School (Masonic Auditorium) Playwrights Local 4181, a new company dedicated to supporting the dramatists of Northeast Ohio, will be holding open auditions for TO THE ORCHARD, a world-premiere play by Les Hunter, at the above date and time. Callbacks will be held by appointment. This is a non-Equity, paid production, directed by Dale Heinen. Performance dates are May 26-28 and June 2-4 at the Waterloo Arts in Collinwood, with a third weekend to follow at a TBA location in the eastern suburbs. In *To the Orchard*, college student Rachel Bergman is propelled to reveal her sexual identity to her conservative father, who has hidden his own past from the family for years. An orthodox rabbi, a queer studies professor, and the spirits of Robert Plant and Virginia Woolf inhabit this slightly magic-realist play about family, making mistakes, retribution and coming clean. Prior to this world premiere, *To the Orchard* received a National Foundation for Jewish Culture New Play grant, and development at Boston Playwrights Theatre and Brooklyn College. *Audition Information* Dancing Wheels Company & School is located inside the Masonic Auditorium at 3615 Euclid Ave Cleveland, OH 44115 . Nordonia Drama Club hosting Princess Camps!

As the Nordonia High School Drama Club is preparing for their spring musical production of Rodgers and Hammerstein's *Cinderella*, they will also be hosting two very special princess day camps, open to our local princesses! The camps, which are open to princesses ages 5 and up, will be held in the Nordonia High School Auditorium on February 13th and February 27th, 2016. Each camp will run from 3:00 until 5:30 PM. The camps will consist of a princess dance class led by *Cinderella* choreographer Megan Gargano, a princess craft, and other activities led by the cast of our spring production of *Cinderella*. Each princess in attendance will receive their own tiara and a ticket to come see *Cinderella* when it performs on the Nordonia stage April 15th through the 17th. *The cost of the camp is $40. Cleveland Ballet Debuts Trainee Program Cleveland, OH- Cleveland Ballet's Trainee program is a unique 2-year program that challenges aspiring professional ballet dancers to put the finishes touches on their training while performing with Cleveland Ballet's professional dancers. Trainees' daily activities will include: company class, company rehearsals during the early part of the day as well as advanced professional ballet technique, pointe, variation and men's classes in the Professional Division of the School. Open audition to dancers 17 to 22 with solid background in classical ballet training, the Trainee Program prepares promising dancers for a successful career with Cleveland Ballet as well as other professional dance companies. The Trainee Program's tuition is purposely kept reasonable with the intent of facilitating accessibility for a broad diversity of dancers. We are fully aware of the necessity for trainees to work to cover their expenses while attending the program and that paying tuition on top of their expenses could be tough. Trainees only pay $300.00 per month, September to May, with a total of $2,700.00 per year. Trainees perform regularly in outreach settings and theatre performances. Trainees will have the opportunity alongside Cleveland Ballet professional dancers to perform at Playhouse Square, Severance Hall with The Cleveland Orchestra, The Cleveland Museum of Art as well as numerous well recognized arts venues in the City of Cleveland. Each trainee term begins with the summer intensive program, following by joining at the start of the Company's season. Trainees are evaluated twice each year by Cleveland Ballet artistic staff to receive detailed feedback on their progress. The average length of training in the Trainee program is 2 years. Trainees who successfully graduate from the program receive individual career advice, assistance and counseling toward moving into a career in dance and professional performance. Graduate trainees are seriously considered for apprenticeship positions in Cleveland Ballet as they become available, though such positions are not guaranteed.

Beck Center for the Arts Youth Theater, one of the oldest continuously running Youth Theaters in the country, will be holding auditions on February 13 & 14, 2016 for the final production of our 67th Anniversary Season: BIG, THE MUSICAL Book by John Weidman Music by David Shire Lyrics by Richard Maltby, Jr. Based on the Twentieth Century Fox film Big, written by Gary Ross and Anne Spielberg Directed by Russel Stich Musical Direction by Matthew Dolan Choreography by Rebecca Frick The Story: The classic 1987 motion picture fantasy bursts onto the stage in this unforgettable theatrical experience. Josh Baskin is sick of being an awkward kid. At a carnival, he makes a wish to the Zoltar machine to become "big". To his shock, his wish is granted. After an understandably awkward beginning, Josh is forced to do "adult" things like getting a job and a girlfriend. In the end he discovers there's much more to being an adult than he's bargained for, and learns we must all grow up at our own pace, in our own time. Audition/Callback dates: (open to Beck Center students ages 6 to 19*) Saturday, February 13: 2:30 to 6:30 pm & Sunday, February 14: 1:00 to 5:00pm Callbacks: Monday, February 15 between 5:30 to 8:30pm Starting Monday, February 1, you may sign up for a one-hour audition slot at Beck Center Customer Service or by calling 216-521-2540 x10.
