*JOB TITLE: Recess Coach, CPH Wraparound School* *REPORTS TO: CPH Wraparound Site Coordinator* *JOB SUMMARY: * Cleveland Play House seeks passionate, fun, and energetic individuals to serve as Recess Coaches who have the desire and eagerness to work with youth in an academic school setting. Recess Coaches will support faculty and staff at three CMSD Wraparound schools, for which CPH serves as the Lead Agency. Recess Coaches will work closely with and under the supervision of the CPH Wraparound Site Coordinator and will be responsible for organizing active play for school-aged children in grades K through 8. A top priority will be facilitating a safe and supportive environment for students during their daily recess period. *RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE (BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO)**:* · Attending ongoing training on age-appropriate games and activities, first aid, as well as school policies and procedures. · Directing movement of students to and from playground, gym, lunch room and to their teachers in a safe and organized manner. · Lead and facilitate activities for up to 75 students in various spaces on campus (most notably cafeterias, playgrounds and gymnasiums). · Distribute and manage recess equipment and materials. · Work in collaboration with school staff and faculty to aide in the safety of students, and administer basic first aid, when necessary. · Be punctual for all shifts and attend periodic information or debrief meetings with Site Coordinator, Recess Coaches and Lunch Aides *QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:* · High school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) and at least one year related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience. · Ability to commit to contracted position from the date of hire through May 2017. · Must be reliable and be available during daytime hours. Exact work hours to be determined based on assigned school, but would be daily (Monday through Friday) from 11:30am to 2:30pm. · Experience working with children ages 4 through 15 in an academic school and/or community youth center setting. Previous experience working in sports, recreational or arts fields is a plus. · Must have a professional attitude with excellent work ethic. · Culturally competent and able to work with a diverse population in a vibrant community. Workshop Players Theatre presents "Uh-Oh, Here Comes Christmas" by David Caldwell, Ernest Zulia and Robert Fulghum, directed by Kristina Rivera. This charming show takes a funny, heartwarming and often poignant look at the struggle to find the spirit of the holidays amid the avalanche of commercialism, stress and chaos that crashes down every December. A series of stories unfold ranging from hilarious musing about the love/hate relationship with the ever present poinsettias, to an unexpected path to curing a person’s serious case of “Scoogitis.” Cast members Jeff Caja, Kevin Clilne, Shelbey Linder, Sophie Matos, Heidi Sarvis-Sapp and John Telepak invite you to come share the joy, the hot chocolate, the cookies, the Christmas Karaoke and the fun with us. Voice Teacher - 1 opening The Ashtabula Arts Center seeks a dedicated and enthusiastic voice teacher to work with students of all ages, including our large population of singers just starting out. The ideal applicant should hold at least a bachelor's in music/voice or a related degree, or be in their final year of study towards such a degree. Teachers will hold lessons in our studios to teach proper vocal technique and assist in choosing repertoire. Intermediate to advanced piano skills are needed to lead vocal warmups and provide light accompaniment. Teachers are responsible for their own schedule which must correspond with our studio schedule. The Ashtabula Arts Center prides itself on our warm, welcoming atmosphere and we are looking forward to bringing another creative mind into our family. Music Directors - 2 openings The Ashtabula Arts Center seeks two music directors for our main stage musicals, youth productions, and/or children's choirs. *9TH ANNUAL SCA PLAYWRITING COMPETITION* This winter, students grades 4 - 12 are eligible to enter a short play of their own creation into The 9th Annual Solon Center for the Arts Playwriting Competition. Students will be judged in two separate groups. Grades 4 - 6 are asked to submit a piece no more than 5 pages typed and grades 7 - 12 may submit works up to 10 pages typed.
