Callbacks: TBA SHOW DATES: March 3, 4, 10, 11 at 8pm and March 12 at 3pm PERFORMANCE LOCATION:: St. Barnabas Episcopal Church 468 Bradley Road Bay Village, Ohio 44140 SYNOPSIS: Welcome to Almost, Maine, a town that’s so far north, it’s almost not in the United States—it’s almost in Canada. And it almost doesn’t exist. Because its residents never got around to getting organized. So it’s just…Almost. One cold, clear Friday night in the middle of winter, while the northern lights hover in the sky above, Almost’s residents find themselves falling in and out of love in the strangest ways. Knees are bruised. Hearts are broken. Love is lost, found, and confounded. And life for the people of Almost, Maine will never be the same. AVAILABLE ROLES: MEN: Pete - teens - 30s. A man having marital troubles, he feels more comfortable at work than at home East - 30s - 60s. Down-to-earth handyman falls in love with Glory at first sight. WOMEN: Ginette - teens - 30s. Desperately in love with Pete and will do anything to prove it. Sandrine - 20s - 40s A woman who runs into her ex-boyfriend while at her bachelorette party Gayle - 20s - 30s. A woman who is ready to move on to the next step in her relationship or end it. Rhonda - 20s - 40s. Fun, quirky, thinks of herself as “just one of the guys,” she is afraid to let her relationship with Dave move to the next level. Suzette - 30s - 60s. Daniel’s Wife. Marvalyn - 20s - 40s. Marvalyn and her boyfriend have fallen on hard times, which has caused a lot of strain in their relationship. Hope - 30s - 60s. Regrets choosing career over love, trying to find the man she left behind. Marci - 30s -50s. A woman having marital troubles, feels as though her husband no longer pays attention to anything, and constantly hides her true feelings. Glory - 30s - 60s. Glory believes that she caused the death of her husband, and is having trouble moving on because of her guilt. IMPORTANT: This show is a series a vignettes with 2-3 characters in each. Whomever comes up with these tickets will win a free tour of the Wonka factory, as well as a lifetime supply of candy. Four of the five winning children are insufferable brats: the fifth is a likeable young lad named Charlie Bucket, who takes the tour in the company of his equally amiable grandfather. The children must learn to follow Mr. Wonka's rules in the factory... or suffer the consequences. Cast- * The age range for each character is flexible and all ethnicities will be considered Willy Wonka The mysterious title character. He is charming, enigmatic, charismatic, and slightly sinister. Gender: Female Age: 25 to 50 Vocal range: B3-F5 Violet Beauregarde A brassy girl with a competitive streak. Violet seizes every opportunity to show off. She turns into a giant blueberry. Gender: Female Age: 9 to 15 Vocal range: G3-F5 Mrs. Beauregarde Violet's enthusiastic "helicopter parent" who focuses all her attention on her daughter. Crosby -- Originally from Lakewood, Will has worked all over the Cleveland area as an Actor, Director, and Stage Manager. Most recently Will was seen as Prince Herbert/ Not-Dead-Fred in Weathervane's production of Monty Pythons Spamalot. Other notable roles include Smee in Peter and the Starcatcher (Weathervane), Nicely Nicely Johnson in Guys and Dolls(Olmstead Performing Arts), William Barfee in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee (Huntington Playhouse) and the Cowardly Lion in The Wizard of Oz (CAMEO.) Audition and Callback Workshop for 6th-8th Grades at Playmakers

Good Morning! Some exciting news!! Playmakers Youth Theatre is holding our Master Class I again for grades 6-8 in January! A bit about the class… The purpose of this class is to help kids in grades 6-8 feel more prepared for auditions and callbacks. Many times we receive questions on best practices and felt that a two-part workshop ahead of upcoming auditions would help kids feel confident and prepared. Topics include song choice, cold reads, callbacks, what directors are looking for in youth theatre, and everything in between. You do NOT need to be a member of Mandel JCC or a current Playmakers participant to get involved. This is a tool to help kids at all levels of skill and involvement in theatre with the audition and callback process. We had 36 6th-8th graders participate in the fall, with a lot of great feedback. Some of the comments included: feeling more prepared for auditions, understanding the process better, and feeling more comfortable approaching callbacks. The Logistics: Dates: 1/3 and 1/5. NOTE: You must attend both classes to participate. Times: 5pm-7pm Location: Fairmount Temple Pricing: Member pricing is $38/non-member pricing is $45 Registration is open now! To get registered, please click on the link below. Max is 10 kids/class and students must attend both sessions.
