Acting Classes Hosted by Teenagers

Good Evening, Group of teenagers are constructing acting classes for the ages of 7-12. You will learn: Auditioning tips, How to memorize lines, Stage directions, Dictation, How to get yourself out there, Acting in front of a camera, and so much more! Price: 3$ per session (you must be present to all sessions as we will put on a short film once the classes are over) Who is it ran by: A group of teenage boys, Carson (14) Ben (13) and Frankie (13) Experience: Multiple plays, a 7 day film class, agency signing, and much more When: The classes will be on the weekends from 10:00 AM-3:00 PM Wat to bring: A folder/binder and lunch Audition: You will need to audition to see what skill level you’re at and that will determine your instructor Carson C - Advanced level Ben J - Intermediate level Frankie M - Beginner level Short film: We will be putting on a short film after the completion of the classes. The short film has not yet been determined with no ideas yet. Every person taking these classes will be in the short film but will need to audition to see what part they fit in as. The auditions will take place a few classes in, that way kids know the right way and what we look for when auditioning. ****We are kids with a dream, We will PROMISE to teach your kids the guided stuff and make them a more successful actor/actress. We obviously aren’t capable of making them the BEST actor/actress out there but with the guidance we will give will help your child. Paid position Dates: April 6 to April 29 Wardrobe Supervisor Supervise costume repairs and laundering, pre-show prep, in-show quick changes, post-show cleanup, and manages costume dressers. Assist with strike of costumes at end of run. Dresser Clean and press costumes before and after performances and perform any minor repairs. Arrange costumes in order of use to facilitate quick-change procedures for performances. Assist with strike of costumes at end of run. Review of "A Kid Like Jake" at none too fragile theater

‘A Kid Like Jake’ is a captivating, contemporary Cinderella story Bob Abelman Cleveland Jewish News, The News Herald, The Morning Journal Member, International Association of Theatre Critics Daniel Pearle’s one-act play “A Kid Like Jake,” currently on stage at none too fragile theater, provides a landing pad for helicopter parents – those cossetting caregivers who hover over their children in order to maximize their potential for greatness. Alex (Rachel Lee Kolis) has given up a legal career to be the perfect mom and is now fully committed to getting her bright and precocious 4-year-old son, Jake (who remains unseen), into a top-tier private kindergarten. And by fully committed, we’re talking obsessed. She sends out applications, which have been written with great care and then re-written again and again, months in advance. She works diligently with Judy (Laura Starnik), the placement adviser at Jake’s fancy preschool, to best prepare the boy for the battery of assessments that are part of the application process. She neglects her husband Greg (Geoff Knox), a clinical psychologist, who taps his infinite patience and vast knowledge of crazy behavior to keep his wife from imploding. Despite everyone’s best efforts to act in Jake’s best interest, no one quite knows how to handle the boy’s enthusiasm for “gender variant play,” such as dressing up as Cinderella and favoring dolls over toy trucks. Jake, it seems, is starting to identify as female. “A Kid Like Jake” is very much a domestic drama about what happens to a family when childcare is turned into a blood sport. But it also raises questions about the current state of primary education and whether human intelligence and gender identity are created by nature or molded through nurturing.
