Playwrights Local 4181 announces its 2016 Play Lab and Spring Workshops, a series of new plays and writing classes from April 15-17 at Waterloo Arts. This event features staged readings of works from the company’s Play Lab program, which teams playwrights, dramaturgs, and directors for three months of in-depth development. It also includes additional readings of shorter plays, a Saturday morning class for kids, and a Friday evening reception. All sessions are free, with a suggested donation of $8. It is an open auditioned, selective process. *School of Rock Workshop will run June 20-August 4,* * M-Th, 1-4pm * *There will be 3 performances, August 4-7* *This is an intensive summer program. It is an open auditioned, selective process, open for students age 10-18* *Roles will be cast before general workshop registration on 4/16/16.* * If cast, cost is $300 for GLTG members, $315 non-members* *AUDITIONS:* *April 1, 5-8 pm* *April 2, 1-4pm* *Geauga Lyric Arts Center * *106 Water St, Chardon, OH* *School of Rock* *requires five of the leads to play instruments on stage as part of the band!* Drums, guitar, electric guitar, keyboard and cello! It is an open auditioned, selective process. AUDITIONS MUST BE ATTENDED TO BE CONSIDERED FOR *SCHOOL OF ROCK*. Intensive day workshops included, but not limited to: How to Rock & Roll, Musical Theatre and Appreciation, Improvisation, Backstage, Tech, and Stage Management Everyone will receive vocal, acting, and dance instruction. Hello, my name is Litho Freeman,and I am the writer director of the latest film to come from Bohemian Fliques, Albert Bellamy, a story about a 65 yr old French immigrant with Alzheimer's who find out the only way to his earliest friend's funeral is by riding a bike. - I am looking for a semi rusted vintage bike with the curved front bar - Anybody who could help will be added to the credits of the film - this film is written half in French (due to the character's Alzheimer's) and will be premiering to an international audience - Please let me know if you can help out, production begins March 29th

BOOTYCANDY OPENS NEXT WEEK FRI, MARCH 25 AT CONVERGENCE-CONTINUUM Bootycandy, by the daring playwright Robert OHara, is a raucous, hilarious and very un-politically-correct satire about a young mans outrageous odyssey growing up gay and black in modern America in a wild series of ribald (nudity alert), disturbing, heartwarming and downright hysterical scenes from the 1970s to the present. Bootycandy takes a fearless and subversive look at attitudes toward sexuality in African-American culture in a range of ribald (nudity alert), disturbing, heartwarming and downright hysterical scenes from his childhood home, his church, dive bars and discos and many more. Bootycandy is directed by Terrence Spivey and features actors Wesley Allen, India Burton, Rochelle Jones, Michael May and Nate Miller. Bootycandy opens Fri, March 25 and runs Thu-Sat at 8 pm through April 16 at the Liminis Theater, 2438 Scranton Rd, Cleveland 44113 in the historic Tremont neighborhood. The Medina County Farmers Market is currently seeking musical solo artists to small groups to perform on Saturday mornings, June-September, on the Medina Square. Performance time is flexible, between 9:30-1 (generally 2-3 hours per gig). Pay is negotiable, in the $150-200 range. The performance will be ambient, background music for the market itself. We are specifically interested in light jazz, folk, light rock, acoustic, and blues genres.
