Sandstone Summer Theatre of Amherst, Ohio is pleased to announce audition dates for *Sister Act: The Musical,* under the direction of Kristina Rivera and Music Direction under Melissa Anderson. Auditions will be held March 4th and March 11th, 2017 from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm in the choir room of the Amherst Junior High School, 548 Milan Ave, Amherst, OH 44001. You only have to attend one of the dates, but please plan on staying the whole time. Please prepare 32 bars in the style of the show, but not from the show. Bring sheet music in the correct key. Accompanist provided. Be prepared for dance audition and cold readings from the script. Headshots encouraged. Sister Act will be performed on July 13, 14 and 15. Deloris Van Cartier An aspiring performer, trying to find both fame and a place in the world. When forced to hide in the convent, she initially refuses to embrace her new lifestyle but learns to embrace it when she works with the choir. Loud-mouthed, and sassy, but ultimately caring. Gender: female Age: 25 to 35 Vocal range top: F#5 Vocal range bottom: E3 Mother Superior The head of the convent, sarcastic and a bit stiff. Extremely protective about keeping her sisters away from the outside world, which puts her in direct opposition to Deloris and her musical teachings. Gender: female Age: 50 to 70 Vocal range top: E5 Vocal range bottom: D3 Sister Mary Robert A postulant, abandoned as a baby and raised at the convent. Shy and soft-spoken, but singing with Deloris lets her find her voice. Her wallflower lifestyle has made her live a shell of a life. Gender: female Age: 16 to 25 Vocal range top: A5 Vocal range bottom: F#3 Sister Mary Patrick A nun of the convent. Consistently perky, enthusiastic, and easily excitable. Gender: female Age: 35 to 50 Sister Mary Lazarus A nun of the convent and the head of the choir. Rather deadpan and the least welcoming of any of the nuns, but she gets caught up in Deloris's soul music. Gender: female Age: 50 to 70 Vocal range top: B4 Vocal range bottom: F3 Monsignor O'hara One of the heads of the convent. Constantly concerned with financial matters, though soul music surprisingly puts him in a different mood. Gender: male Age: 45 to 60 Vocal range top: G4 Vocal range bottom: E3 Curtis A club owner, notorious gangster, and Deloris's boyfriend. Cocky and controlling, always on the verge of violence. Gender: male Age: 30 to 40 Vocal range top: Ab4 Vocal range bottom: A2 Eddie Souther The desk chief at the Philadelphia police station and a high school classmate of Deloris who helps get her into hiding. Faces a lot of nerves when under pressure, causing him to sweat profusely. He still yearns for Deloris after all these years, and dreams of being her hero. Gender: male Age: 25 to 35 Vocal range top: B4 Vocal range bottom: Ab2 Tj Curtis's nephew and one of his thugs. Deft and cognizant of the fact, constantly in a state of ignorant bliss. Gender: male Age: 16 to 30 Vocal range top: Eb5 Vocal range bottom: Db3 Joey One of Curtis's thugs. Believes himself to be quite the ladies' man. Gender: male Age: 30 to 40 Vocal range top: Eb5 Vocal range bottom: Bb2 Pablo One of Curtis's thugs. A natural follower, constantly speaks in Spanish. Gender: male Age: 25 to 40 Vocal range top: F5 Vocal range bottom: C4 Sister Mary Martin-of-tours A nun of the convent. Clearly in her own world, but has her moments of surprising clarity. Gender: female Age: 40 to 60 Sister Mary Theresa A nun of the convent, the oldest of the group. Decrepit at a glance, but secretly packs a punch. Gender: female Age: 60 to 70 Michelle One of Deloris's back-up singers. Lippy and always quick with a retort. Gender: female Age: 20 to 30 Vocal range top: F5 Vocal range bottom: Bb3 Tina One of Deloris's back-up singers. A little thick and naive. Gender: female Age: 20 to 30 Vocal range top: F5 Vocal range bottom: Ab3 Ernie One of Curtis's thugs. Initially thought to be a mindless yes-man, he turns out to be an undercover police informant. Gender: male Age: 25 to 35 Ensemble Nuns; Bar Denizens (Bar Patron, Waitress, Pool Player, Drag Queen); Homeless People; Fantasy Dancers

Songs for a NewWorld "Songs for aNew World" is one of Jason Robert Brown's ("Last Five Years","13") first works. It is an abstract theatrical song cycle that isabout decisions people make. JRB said his show is “about one moment. It's abouthitting the wall and having to make a choice, or take a stand, or turn aroundand go back." There are 4 parts in this show, 2 men and 2 women, with the possibility of adding one more female and male to make the cast 6people. Review of "I Call My Brothers" at Cleveland Public Theatre

CPT’s ‘I Call My Brothers’ offers a poignant portrait of next to normal Bob Abelman Cleveland Jewish News, The News Herald, The Morning Journal Member, International Association of Theatre Critics Most of us take normal for granted. In fact, we only give normal a second thought when it is abruptly disrupted. For Amor, the protagonist in Jonas Hassen Khemiri’s cleverly conceived “I Call My Brothers,” normalcy is what he aspires to. It is a fragile desire that is desperately sought-after and nearly attained until a car bomb goes off. The suspect of the alleged terrorist attack, we learn, looks very much like Amor (Salar Ardebili), who is a young, bearded and affable Arab-American immigrant. In the aftermath of the explosion, we see the world through Amor’s new-found self-conscious and increasingly paranoid perspective as all eyes seem to be staring at him with suspicious intent. Lorain Community Music Theater Disney's The Little Mermaid LCMT returns to Lorain with a splash for its 40th Anniversary year with this epic adventure under the sea! Come be part of our world! Director/Choreographer - Monica Olejko Music Director - Anthony Trifiletti Producers - Marlene Karpinski & Lynn Maslinski Auditions will be offered in three different sessions. You only need to attend one session. Auditions will be held at St. Peter School, 3601 Oberlin Ave., Lorain. Saturday, March 25th 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. Saturday, March 25th 5:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. Sunday, March 26th 2:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. Please arrive for registration up to thirty minutes prior to the audition start time, and be prepared to stay for the duration of the session. Singing auditions will take place first. A dance routine will be taught at the conclusion of all singing auditions. The dance routine will only be taught once per session. Dress for movement. Those auditioning are asked to prepare a 32 bar cut in a vocal selection that reflects the style of the show. Bring sheet music in the proper key as an accompanist will be provided. Auditions will not be permitted with any electronic accompaniment or in acapella format. All performances will be held at the brand-new Lorain Performing Arts Center.
