Magic realism and pulpy horror-movie conventions collide when the seven friends conspire to brutally rid their small town of its viciously oppressive mayor. _Massacre_ is a powerful depiction of the use of violence as a response to living under a repressive plutocratic regime, and of our own role in perpetuating the tyranny. _Massacre _is directed by convergence-continuum’s Artistic Director, Clyde Simon, and features actors Wesley Allen, Lucy Bredeson-Smith, Dennis Burby, Jamal Davidson, Beau Reinker, Kelsey Rubenking, Brian Westerley and Hillary Wheelock. AUDITIONS FOR CAMEO’S 2017 SUMMER MUSICAL, NEXT TO NORMAL CAMEO proudly announces auditions for its summer musical, Next to Normal. This profound, relevant, electrifying musical, winner of the 2010 Pulitzer Prize for Drama, will be presented in the beautiful Medina Performing Arts Center July 14, 15, 21, 22, 27, 28, 29 at 8 PM and July 16, 23, & 30 at 4 PM. Auditions for Next to Normal will take place Saturday, May 6 from 5-9 PM, Sunday, May 7 from 7-9 PM, and Monday, May 8, from 7-10PM. Auditions will be held at the Medina Performing Arts Center, 851 Weymouth Rd, Medina Ohio. Callbacks will be Thursday, May 11 from 7:30-10 PM. Call-backs will also be held at the Medina Performing Arts Center. Prepare 16-32 bars of music in the style of the show that best displays your vocal abilities as they relate to the role you are seeking. Prepare a monologue of your choice, approximately 1-2 minutes in length. Please bring your resume, headshot, and music clearly marked, as an accompanist will be provided. No recorded music will be permitted for accompaniment. Rehearsals begin for Next to Normal on Tuesday, May 30. All rehearsals will take place at the Medina Performing Arts Center. Rehearsals are generally scheduled Sundays-Thursdays from 7-10PM. Company members will be called as needed, and therefore may not be required to attend every rehearsal. Please prepare and bring a complete list of conflicts ranging from the start of the rehearsal process thru the close of the production at the time of auditions. Having just started having panic attacks, Ethan always keeps a paper bag nearby. BRIAN: M, 40 - 45, white (Unpaid - Travel Reimbursed) Brian is the burly, blue-collar, self-made older brother of Ethan. He owns a concrete business and recently finished building his dream home outside the city. He is extremely handy, hard-working, and all around a decent man. Fed up with the Obama administration, Brian voted Trump in the 2016 election, but is too proud to admit his mistake. Out of spite, he still fly’s a large TRUMP PENCE 2016 flag in front of his home. CASSIDY: F, 15-17, white (Unpaid - Travel Reimbursed) Cassidy is the outgoing, yet distracted, teenager daughter of Brian. She’s mostly preoccupied with her phone and when she chooses to engage, it’s reluctantly. Upset about moving further away from the city, Cassidy is far from interested in getting involved with politics and would rather be at softball practice than in her parent’s new home.
