Court is in session and Judge Jackie is presiding! There are no shortage of TV justices...but Judge Judy, Judge Alex Ferrer, Judge Mablean, and Judge Marilyn Milian can't hold a candle to JUDGE JACKIE: Disorder in the Court Yes, this year's ATFGC / CANAPI benefit is coming up, and you've been summoned to appear before Judge Jackie as a member of her audience and jury! You never know what might happen as a series of colorful characters come to court to testify in an assortment of crazy cases...it's up to Judge Jackie to set them straight and settle the disputes, while keeping her ratings up, finding happiness in her personal life, and even belting out a tune or two! There are only two court dates, and you don't want to miss this show - the verdict from past audiences is that this annual benefit production will make all rise...to applaud. Remember, each performance benefits an agency that works tirelessly to serve those living with HIV/AIDS in our community, while also working to stop the spread of HIV through eductation, testing, and outreach. East Cleveland Theater is looking for a stage manager(s) for 2 of its upcoming productions: *1. **August Wilson's Jitney* Radio Golf takes place in the 1970s and is the 8th play of The American Century Cycle, his ten-part cycle that looks at African-American life throughout the 20th century, primarily in the Hill District of Pittsburgh. Production Dates: February 02 thru 25, 2018, with shows on Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm, and shows on Sundays at 3pm … 11 shows in all. There is NO performance on Feb 04, Super Bowl Sunday. Cast: 8 men, 1 woman (all black actors will be necessary) Auditions: Probably scheduled sometime late October, early November. *2. **Exit the Body, by Fred Carmichael* Exit the Body is a 3-act comedy farce, with some mystery thrown in. Production Dates: May 04 thru 20, 2018, with shows on Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm, and shows on Sundays at 3pm … 9 shows in all. Cast: 5 men, 5 women Auditions: Probably scheduled sometime in January, February timeframe. ECT typically has a 6-week rehearsal schedule, including Tech Week, but that can vary depending on the director. Weathervane Playhouse is set to take you "Under the Sea" in the Disney musical adaptation of Hans Christian Andersen's Classic AKRON - Weathervane Playhouse presents its first production of our 2017-2018 season, Disney's The Little Mermaid, July 27 through August 13, 2017. Based on one of Hans Christian Andersen's most beloved stories and the classic animated film, Disney's The Little Mermaid is a beautiful love story for the ages. With its tuneful songs and compelling story, this fishy fable will capture your heart with its irresistible songs, including Under the Sea, Kiss the Girl, Poor Unfortunate Souls, and Part of Your World. Director Chris Simmons says of the production, "I am beyond thrilled to be making my Weathervane directing debut with Disney's The Little Mermaid and with the Emerging Artist Series! I am continuously impressed with the level of talent and professionalism of the young actors at Weathervane." He falls in love with Clio, disguised as Kira, as she attempts to help inspire him in his art. The actor playing Sonny Malone must be able to move well in roller skates.

It willbe held Friday, August 11th, rainor shine, from 7PM to 10PM. Theconcert will feature the band “Stu and the Brew”. Moniesraised from Cruise-In activities will be donated to a pre-designated localcharity. Therewill be plenty of free parking as well as shelter in the event of rain. Foodand adult beverages will be available for purchase. There will be a special copy of the Little Golden Book of the original “Beauty and the Beast” story signed by the entire cast given out to all the children along with a treat. The event will cost $10 per child (accompanying parents are at no additional charge but they must make a reservation). Reservations are in addition to the price of the show ticket. Tea Time with Mrs. Potts:Come and dine in our French provincial town and meet the characters from Disney’s Beauty and the Beast. They will be coming around to the tables to visit and you will be able to get their autograph in a special coloring/autograph book designed just for this occasion. This will be a special “reservation only” lunch that will include a light meal (sandwiches, fruit and cookies) and all the tea you would like. Mrs. Potts will be sharing a few thoughts with the children as well as a story where the enchanted objects solve a mystery along with the help of the audience. The parent meal does not include the autograph/coloring book and other extra items for the children. Reservations are in addition to the price of the show ticket.
