Well, what about finding out that his sweet, spinster aunts Martha and Abby have been poisoning lonely old men for years with homemade elderberry wine laced with a touch of arsenic. More? What about learning that his brother Teddy, who thinks himself to be Teddy Roosevelt, has been burying his aunts' victims in the basement thinking they succumbed to Yellow Fever at the Panama Canal. How about Mortimer's other brother, the maniacal criminal Jonathan, who decides to hideout from the police at his aunts' house with alcoholic sidekick, Dr. Einstein, on the same night that the aunts were planning to bury their latest victim, which also happens to be the same night Mortimer stops by with his fiancée. Spotlights Theater Presents “SOUP, SANDWICH & SHOW with SANTA” Thisnew take on “dinner theater” is for the entire family. Sponsored by The GoddardSchool of Broadview Heights, this special holiday celebration at the BroadviewHeights Spotlights Theater will be held Saturday, December 8th and Sunday,December 9th. There will be two seating options: 11:30AMand 2:30PM. The theater is located on the Broadview Center property, 9543Broadview Road (next to the police station). Santa’selves will serve a hot lunch consisting of soup, sandwich or hot dog, potatochips, veggies, and beverage prepared by none other than Mrs. Claus. Afterlunch, all will be ushered into the theater for two short Christmas playsfeaturing Santa himself: “The Santa Interviews" by Wade Bradford and“Santa's Cookie Problem" by Lori Soard. Keleigh Bowling is the directorwith assistance from Samia Williams, Amy McSweeney, and Donna Simec. The showsfeature a cast of all ages, including Michael Sweeney, JuliaKuczynski, Ella Dralle, Abbey Tamer, Vincent Del Calzo, KaitlynElizabeth Whitehead, Thomas Sweeney, Caitlin Sweeney, and KarenJohnston. Annette Phelps and Karen Johnston are co-producers. Theproduction will be followed by dessert as Santa greets the children. The online moderation team shows us the complexities of dealing with inappropriate online content. Kristen is unsettled with her inability to help others, until she must decide if she will go out of her way to help a young girl in a dangerous situation nearby. Project Details: 15-min short film, independent production, non-union. Production will occur in Lakewood, Ohio from December 5-8. Auditions will occur online. We are looking for professionals and students who are teachable, willing, and able to assimilate into our organizational culture and aesthetic. Inlet is a modern dance company with a technical base grounded in Hawkins-based release technique, Pilobolus-based nontraditional partnering, and a collaborative creative process that relies on improvisation skills. Inlet is equally strong in education programming as it is in performing concert and special event work. The company seeks highly skilled dance artists with a desire to educate as well as perform. Inlet Dance Theatre employs a "get to know you" approach to auditions, so full attendance to both days is required. EVENT: Dover Players Presents a New Dramatic Comedy, Home for the Holidays Dover Players third production of 2018 is Home for the Holidays, written and directed by Gregory J. Lavelle. Synopsis: A dramatic comedy set in Brooklyn, New York. The story centers around the Kelly family and brothers Brad and Jim. Sullen older brother, Brad, has never recovered from the murder of his father seventeen years earlier and has vowed never to get over it until he sees dad standing in the dining room on Christmas day. Family discord erupts as naïve young brother, Jim, announces his plan to bring a mysterious and potentially dangerous homeless man to Christmas dinner. The play focuses on the real-world problems of homeless people in the United States and the strength of the family unit.
