CONVERGENCE-CONTINUUM IS HOLDING AUDITIONS FOR NEOMFA PLAYWRIGHTS FESTIVAL MONDAY DECEMBER 17, LIMINIS THEATER AT 7:00 PM For the eighth year running, con-con will produce the plays of grad students in the Northeast Ohio Master of Fine Arts (NEOMFA) program in playwriting. The Festival will take place over two weekends: Feb. 14-16 and Feb. 21-23 next year. Rehearsals will start the second week of January. Those who have participated in the past can testify that the Festival is an intensive, busy and thoroughly fun experience! This time there will be two full-length plays (by Renee Shilling and by Morgan Elswick) and three 10-minute plays (Klae Bainter / Jacob Bremcamp / Ralph Meyers). A full-length and two 10-minute plays will be presented the first weekend, and the other two plays will be presented the following weekend. In all, the four plays have 21 roles (11 men, 10 women) of a wide range of ages. Auditions will consist of readings from the scripts, but the auditions will be general Festival auditions, not for specific plays. All five directors will be present. It is very possible that you could be cast in a play that you did not read from during auditions. It is also possible that you may be cast in two plays, e.g. a full-length + a 10-minute play, or two 10-minute plays. Cain Park Produces RAGTIME in 2019 Auditions scheduled February 22 & 23 Ksenia Roshchakovsky, Cain Park Public Relations Manager, 216-291-5792, ksenia(a)clvhts.com FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: December 12, 2018 (Cleveland Heights, Ohio)--The City of Cleveland Heights announces RAGTIME will be produced in the Alma Theater June 13-30, 2019 as part of Cain Parkʼs 81st season; preview is June 13 with opening night on June 14. Cain Park Theater Artistic Director Joanna May Hunkins directs RAGTIME with musical direction by Jordan Cooper. Based on E. L. Doctorow's 1975 novel by the same name, RAGTIME uses song to weave together stories of early twentieth-century New York from three very different perspectives — African Americans in Harlem, immigrants from Eastern Europe, and upper-class suburban whites. The differences of these groups are bridged and transcended by the popular music of the era, much like today. Back in 1998, the original Broadway production of RAGTIME was nominated for "Best Musical" among its 13 Tony nominations. Terrence McNally won the Tony Award for "Best Book of a Musical," and composer Stephen Flaherty and Lynn Ahrens won Tonys for "Best Original Score." Ahrens also won the Drama Desk Award for "Outstanding Lyrics" (as did McNally and Flaherty in their respective categories). The production won a Tony Award for "Best Orchestrations," and Audra McDonald won her third Tony for "Best Performance by a Featured Actress in a Musical." Joanna May Cullinan has worked at Cain Park in various capacities over the past 20 years, most recently directing the critically acclaimed productions of Rock of Ages and Memphis. She is also the Associate Director of Community Engagement for The Musical Theater Project. As a freelance director/performer throughout northeast Ohio, Joanna has worked with Great Lakes Theater, Cleveland Play House, Mercury Theatre Company, Ensemble Theatre, and Beck Center among others. Joanna graduated from Baldwin-Wallace University with a B.A. in Theatre and completed the graduate studies program in Arts Management at The University of Akron. She also attended The National Cabaret Conference at Yale University where she worked with multiple Broadway legends and Tony award nominees. Jordan Cooper is the artistic director for Shining Star CLE 2019 and has worked at Dobama Theatre, Cleveland Play House, Playhouse Square, Lakeland Civic Theatre, Cain Park, Tantrum Theater, French Creek Theatre, Blank Canvas Theater, The Florida Repertory Theatre Company, Near West Theatre, Cassidy Theatre, and the list goes on. His work in theater began at a young age and has flourished into a thriving career as a director, music director, pianist and accompanist. 10 Most Memorable Moments in Cleveland Theater, 2018 Edition Bob Abelman Cleveland Jewish News, The News Herald, The Morning Journal When we reflect back on a live theater production, it is often a specific moment that we recall – an instant when a playwright’s idea, a director’s vision, and/or an actor’s performance surpasses an audience’s expectations and something special happens. Such moments seem frozen in time and suspended in space. It is these isolated, elusive and brilliant moments that keep theatergoers coming back for more and win over the next generation of patrons. Theatrical missteps and creative miscarriages are similarly memorable and, for the audience if not the performers or production staff, they can be just as entertaining. Awe can be found in work both awesome and awful. Actors needed for training video

We create multimedia learning and development content for a variety of national and international organizations. We need a diverse set of 4 actors of varying age, sex, and ethnicity to play the roles of guests at a themepark. Each actor will play the role of a patron ordering different items at the themepark. This will be shot with a first-person POV and actors must be comfortable delivering lines and reacting directly to camera. The director will feed you the lines and direction. Typical recording time per actor is 30-45 minutes. Depending on each actor's availability, we are looking to shoot on either 12/19, 12/20, or 12/21. Recording will take place at our studio: 8401 Chagrin Rd. Chagrin Falls, OH 44023 Pay is $150 cash. Trutek Dance Company, Cleveland-based and Cleveland’s first, professional all female fusion commercial dance company , now in its 3rd anniversary season, seeks to hire qualified technical female dancers for the 2019-2020 season. There are 2 immediate openings for female dancers. Trutek Dance Company performs professional shows in their in house theatre as well as touring this Summer in the Midwest and the South (including South Carolina & North Carolina) In addition to performing, company members will teach classes & perform educational outreach. The company works with highly acclaimed choreographers from New York and Los Angeles throughout the contract year. The preferred candidates should be proficient in jazz, contemporary & partnering, (for pieces w/ guest male dancers in ballroom & contemporary dance) Tap, Hip Hop, Ballroom & Acro a plus. Strong Ballet technical background in younger years of training or current will be an advantage. Experience and training required, must be able to work part time to full‐time. Pay scale is commensurate with experience; high weekly salaries, 4 to 6 weeks of paid holidays and vacation time are included, monthly gas reimbursements, holiday bonuses & other perks. Schedule is flexible enough to work a small part time job in the mornings to early afternoons. This is a one of a kind opportunity in the Cleveland area.
