COMPANY AUDITION WITH THE MOVEMENT PROJECT DEC 15th, 2018 Location: Gund Dance Studio (The Idea Center), 1375 Euclid Avenue, Cleveland Ohio 44115 Time: 1:15-2:30PM Parking: Lot & meter parking located around building What to bring to the audition: Bring resume, bio and headshot. Position: The Movement Project is seeking well-rounded dancers with a wide-range of skill sets, including a strong background in modern/contemporary, ballet, composition and pedagogy. TMP company members responsibilities include (but are not limited to) rehearsals, technique classes, performances, composition, teaching, outreach engagements and weekly administrative duties/roles. Contract: 10 - month contract (1-year agreement) with hourly wage, performance stipend, outreach stipend, and company class. The Movement Project rehearses Mondays & Wednesdays 9:30 - 3:00pm and Fridays 9:30 - 11:00am. Additional outreach opportunities, arts events and performances scheduled throughout the season. TEACHING ARTISTS & CLASS DESCRIPTIONModern (Grace Nicklos) This class will dive into the body’s natural pathways and rhythms. We will move through release as well as float, finding our connection to ground and space. Striving to find our movements' true weight with phrase work that will challenge our mind and body to connect and flux. Modern Lifts & Weight Sharing (Rebecca Leuszler & Irene Honora) This class will focus on the foundation of lifts and weight sharing used in Modern Dance and Contact Improvisation. Through the teachings of balancing, negotiating, and shifting weight, participants will create lifts in various group settings and explore non-traditional negotiation patterns. Yoga (Elyse Morckel) Yoga builds strength, stamina, and flexibility. Class will incorporate Vinyasa (flowing movement sequences) with slow, sustained stretches, refinement of alignment in held poses, as well as breath awareness and mental focus. Improvisation (Megan Gargano) Improvisation is an exploration of choreographic concepts used to develop unique and innovative movement vocabularies in real-time. Next To Normal: Auditions Non-Equity, LIMITED PAID Roles Available PLAYERS GUILD THEATRE Sunday, December 16th, 2018 Producing Artistic Director: Joshua Erichsen Managing Director: Beth Knox Resident Director: Jon Tisevich Rehearsals begin Sunday, January 13th, 2019 and will be held Sundays - Thursdays 6:30-10:30p. The production is scheduled to open February 15th and will run through March 3rd; with performances on Fridays & Saturdays @ 8p, and Sundays @ 2p. There will be one 8p performance on Thursday, February 28th. DIVERSE AND NON-TRADITIONAL CASTING WILL BE CONSIDERED FOR ALL ROLES. Please see the character breakdown of roles available below. She suffers from a worsening bipolar disorder that has been medicated for sixteen years; the sexiness of her yesterdays has only recently begun to soften; tortured by the death of her newborn son. Seeking a strong singer/actress who can capture the audience’s empathy, and can cover the full emotional range that this role requires, including a crucial and deadly sense of humor. Strong Belt/Mix. Gabriel “Gabe Goodman (Male, any ethnicity, 16-23) Diana and Dan’s son, dashing, athletic, gentle, bright, and playful. Both an angel and a demon to his mother, who idolizes him as a superhero. Strong pop tenor. Natalie Goodman (Female, any ethnicity, 15-21) Diana & Dan's daughter who is desperately trying to find ‘normal’ in the midst of choas; must believably read as late teens. Compelling, attractive in her own unique way, bright, contentious, and trying to be perfect. An accomplished pianist and hardworking student, her struggles are exacerbated by her mother's behavior. Strong Belt/Pop Rock Mezzo. Dan Goodman (Male, any ethnicity, 35-45) Diana’s husband and the father to Gabe and Natalie. An architect; he is handsome and genuine, and perpetually frustrated. He provides un-ending support for his family as he fights to keep his wife’s mind and illness stable. A belabored, dedicated father, also with a wicked sense of absurdist humor. Strong Bari-Tenor. Henry (Male, any ethnicity, 16-22) jazz musician, romantic, stoner, slacker, philosopher king. Must believably read as a high school student. A classmate of Natalie and eventually her boyfriend. He supports her during one of the roughest times in her life; has an intoxicating capacity for sympathy and romance. Tenor. Dr. Madden/Dr. Fine (Male, any ethnicity, 25-45) Diana's handsome psychiatrist/psychopharmacologist; on the young side of ageless; quite assured in his practice and considered a rock star of psychiatry. Pop Rock Tenor.

Winter auditions are here and are you prepared? Dr. Christopher Hutton, Baritone, is taking new voice students and excited to get you physically and mentally prepared for auditions and performances. Dr. Hutton has a Masters Degree and Doctorate of Music Arts degrees in Vocal Pedagogy (Science of Singing) from Arizona State University, and is fluent in teaching both belting/music theatre technique and classical technique. Christopher attended Youngstown State University where he received his Bachelors in Voice Performance. He has also performed opera at regional opera houses for over thirteen years.
