PLAYWRIGHTS LOCAL Announces its 2018 OPEN SUBMISSION PERIOD New ten-minute, one-act, full-length, and radio plays by writers from Northeast Ohio accepted from January 1 - April 30, 2018. No fee for submitting! Playwrights Local seeks original, unproduced plays for our 2018-2019 season and events, including: - The 4th Annual Cleveland Playwrights Festival - Play Lab development program - Roundtable staged reading workshop - Our new podcast play series - ...and more! Playwrights may submit up to three pieces: - One ten-minute play - One one-act (30-60 pages) or full-length play (60-120 pages) - One radio/podcast play (25-60 pages) All unproduced, original plays for adult audiences are accepted, including one-person plays. Lorain County Community College Theatre Department is looking for students and community members to audition for its Spring Mainstage production, the imaginative, new comedy DEAD MAN'S CELL PHONE, by MacArthur “Genius” Grant recipient and Pulitzer Prize finalist, Sarah Ruhl. The production will be directed by Rachael Endrizzi. *WHERE TO GO:* The Cirigliano Studio Theatre in the The Stocker Arts Center, Lorain County Community College campus, 1005 Abbe Rd. N, Elyria, OH *WHEN TO BE THERE:* *Sunday, February 18 2-5pm or* *Monday, February 19 7-10pm* With possible callbacks Tuesday, February 20, 7-10pm Rehearsals will begin Monday, March 5th (with flexibility over Spring Break) and performance dates are April 26th, 27th & 28th. Tri-C Western Campus Theatre Arts Department AUDITIONS The Split Show By Lisa Langford Directed by Jimmie Woody The Split Show is inspired by the Black Lives Matter movement. It places the two realities created by the construct of race side by side and examines the consequences of Black skin in America. Using sit-com humor, gospel play tropes, and multimedia, it follows a Black family in the death of their son to police violence and a white family as they decide whether or not to keep the bi-racial baby they conceived in a fertility clinic mix up. "Almost, Maine" at Broadview Heights Spotlights

SPOTLIGHTS THEATER PRESENTS COFFEE HOUSE SHOW“ALMOST, MAINE”, A ROMANTIC COMEDY ALMOST, MAINE is the Broadview Heights Spotlights’ annual Coffee House production. It continues through February 24, 2018. Friday and Saturday performances are at 7:30PM and there will be a Sunday matinee on February 18 at 3PM. All shows will be at the Broadview Heights Cultural Arts Building, 9543 Broadview Road (next to the police station). There will be a complimentary beverage bar (non-alcoholic) all evening, and an extended intermission where luscious desserts will be available for purchase. But the bruises heal, and the hearts mend—almost—in this delightful midwinter night's dream. The show written by John Cariani, directed by Christopher Bizub and co-produced by Annette Phelps and Karen Johnston.
