Cain Park Public Relations/ Marketing Coordinator Location Cleveland Heights, OH Job Type Seasonal Part Time Department Community Center Description Primarily responsible for marketing events for the theater and park events. Examples of Duties * Responsible to assist with monitoring and helping to keep at a minimum the day-to-day chaos of an extremely hectic summer season. * Responsible to answer customer questions and send out requested information. * Responsible to help write press releases, public service announcements, radio spots and playbill copy. * Responsible to assist with media relations, special events promotions, group sales, displays (internal and external), flyer/poster distribution, Theater production photo calls, artist relations, and other special PR or sponsorship opportunities that arise. * Because of the nature of the business, the ability to be flexible and adapt to last minute schedule and assignment changes is essential. * Must be familiar with word-processing programs such as Microsoft Word, and graphic design programs, such as PageMaker, for Mac computers. * Responsible to be on-site for assigned events to greet media and assist with other tasks as specified by the PR Manager and/or General Manager. * Responsible to represent Cain Park off-site when assigned to attend various trade shows and other selling opportunities that may arise. * Responsible to attend any meetings as required by the Cain Park Public Relations Manager and/or Operations Manager. * Responsible to work with other Cain Park and City employees for any additional Arts Festival or Park production needs. * Maintain high safety levels at all times for Park patrons, volunteers and employees. * Responsible to maintain a professional atmosphere among staff and volunteers. * Responsible to report all problems to immediate supervisor and/or Operations Manager. * At the end of the season, you will be required to submit a written final report summarizing the events of the season and suggestions for improvement. * Any other reasonable duties as assigned by the PR Manager, Operations Manager, or General Manager. The musical (with a book by George Furth) was first produced in November of 1981, where it ran for 16 performances. Not very successful eh? It tells of the disintegration of the friendship of successful songwriter Franklin Shepard, his lyricist and best friend Charlie Kringas, and novelist Mary Flynn as they set out to shake up Broadway and 'change the world.' As the years go by, they each become successful professionally but drift apart as friends. This is one of Stephen Sondheim’s most accessible and difficult scores. It is most certainly about friendship and its importance in the lives of three people. This is one great play. *It may have been a flop on Broadway, but "Merrily We Roll Along" is a hit at Lakeland Civic Theatre. Mama Rose is determined to vicariously live the star-branded life she never had through daughters June and Louise as they go from town to town searching for their big breaks. Once it finally happens for Louise (having adopted the stripper persona of Gypsy Rose Lee) Rose's life begins to crumble as she comes to terms with the answer to 'Who was it all for?' Films are shown on Fridays at 7:30 p.m. in the Hoke Theatre. "Like Father, Like Son" Friday, March 2, 2018 at 7:30 p.m. 2013 (Not Rated) 121 min. Japan/subtitles Director: Hirokazu Kore-Eda Cast: Masaharu Fukuyama, Machiko Ono, Yôko Maki, Rirî Furankî Winner of the Jury Prize at the Cannes Film Festival, LIKE FATHER, LIKE SON is a thoughtful, heartfelt story about the bonds of family. Two couples with 6-year-old sons learn the shocking news that their sons were switched at the hospital. Both families are faced with the dilemma of whether to keep their respective children or swap them. What is more important-blood or affection, nature or nurture? Ryota, handsome and successful, is a driven architect who spends little time with his wife and son, although he provides all the best for them. In contrast, financially struggling Yudai is a slovenly shopkeeper whose motto is "Put off until tomorrow everything you can," but who spends more time with his family, which includes additional siblings. The two families arrange gatherings for their children to mingle, and begin a trial system of exchanging the boys on weekends, but all does not go smoothly. The children are delightful, and the storytelling subtle and moving, seasoned with wit and warmth. *A discussion session about the film will follow the film in the Stocker Cinema Hall.
