The Center for Applied Drama and Autism, and Theatre on the Spectrum are hosting An Inclusive and Accessible Afternoon of Very Special Theatre on Saturday, April 28 from 1 to 5 PM at The Black Box Theatre, 2207 Romig Rd, Akron 44320. Theatre on the Spectrum Adult and Youth companies will present their current performances. The afternoon begins with the adult company presenting There's No Business Like Show Business, a cabaret- style music and comedy show. The youth company presents original scenes and monologues from Along the Graveyard Path for our upcoming original production, Along the Graveyard Path, about the history of disAbility in our community. The audience will have opportunities to join with differently-abled artists in creating theatre: Improv with Theatreon the Spectrum, music with local musician Ernest Chatman, and visual art-- Collaborative @Play Mural from Art x Love, (an Akron neighborhood project initiated by artist Mac Love. This event is both a showcase for disAbled performers and a fund-raiser to help us expand our programming in West Akron. Proceeds from this event will provide scholarships for our youth classes for young people on the autism spectrum and support upcoming productions by Theatre on the Spectrum, the performance wing of the Center for Applied Drama and Autism. Tickets are $10/pay-what-you-can for general admission. Event sponsorships are $50 which includes 2 tickets, name in program and a VIP party at the close of the event. Shaker Heights, OH – April 26, 2018: The Cleveland Skating Club (CSC) is proud to host its 81st Annual Ice Show, Road to the Gold, on May 11 and 12 at 7pm. The two hour show is open to the public and features *Keegan Messing* (2018 Olympian, 2018 Canadian National Silver Medalist), pairs team *Julianne Séguin and Charlie Bilodeau*(2018 Olympians, 2018 Canadian National Silver Medalists), and *Jimmy Ma* (two-time U.S. National Junior Medalist), as well as Cleveland area special guests *Cristina Rackley* (five-time U.S. Regional Medalist) and *Shaye and Sharita Taylor* (Special Olympics State Games Medalists). Members of CSC from age three to senior adults will skate to popular music favorites over the course of two acts. *Shaker Summer Theatre is seeking a Music Director for its 2018 summer camp season. * *Session 1*- *Broadway Standards* (11 June 2018- 29 June 2018) *Session 2*- *Contemporary Broadwa*y (9 July 2018- 27 July 2018) Hours for both sessions: *Monday through Friday, 8:50am-3:00pm * Location: John Carroll University's Kulas Auditorium **You must be able to work all of the dates and hours specified above.* Our Music Director would have several responsibilities that include: 1. Selecting Broadway music for each session. This would include 3 to 4 group numbers (kids range in age from 9 to 16 years old) and several (8 to 12) songs that can be sung by individuals (solos, duets, trios, and/or quartets). The first session is older classic Broadway tunes and the second session is contemporary Broadway tunes. 2. The MD would teach these songs to the students. The group numbers would also entail choreography, so you would be required to act as pianist for those choreographic sessions. 3. To play (just a solo piano) for the two performances each session. June 28 at 7 pm, and June 29 at 1 pm; July 26 at 7 pm and July 27 at 1 pm. Shaker Summer Theatre Camp, as directed by long-time Artistic Director Martin Friedman, Ph.D. and Associate Artistic Director Carly Germany, M.F.A., is unique in that we preach process and not product.
