Auditions for "OLIVER!" at Theatre 8:15

Theatre 8:15 presents ... "OLIVER!" By Lionel Bart Directed by Jim Volkert The streets of Victorian England come to life as Oliver, a malnourished orphan in a workhouse, becomes the neglected apprentice of an undertaker. Oliver escapes to London and finds acceptance amongst a group of petty thieves and pickpockets led by the elderly Fagin. When Oliver is captured for a theft that he did not commit, the benevolent victim, Mr. Brownlow takes him in. Fearing the safety of his hideout, Fagin employs the sinister Bill Sikes and the sympathetic Nancy to kidnap him back, threatening Oliver's chances of discovering the true love of a family. AUDITION DATES: Sunday, May 6, 2018 - 5:00 - 7:00 pm Tuesday, May 8, 2018 - 7:00 - 9:00 pm Those auditioning should bring a copy of conflicts and be prepared to sing a short song and learn a short dance number. Rehearsal will begin in May and continue through June and July. Character Breakdown Oliver Twist - A workhouse boy about 11 years of age. Fagin - An elderly receiver - runs training academy for young pickpockets. The Artful Dodger - Fagin's brightest pupil - an undersized 16. Bill Sikes - A villian in his prime. Nancy - 23 years old - a graduate of Fagin's academy, and Bill's doxy. Bet - A 15 year old lass in Fagin's establishment - idolises Nancy. Mr. Bumble - A large and pompous Beadle of the workhouse. Mrs. Corney - A sharp-tongued, domineering widow - the Workhouse Mistress. Mr. Brownlow - An old gentleman of wealth and breeding. Mr. Sowerberry - The Undertaker. Mrs. Sowerberry - Mr. Sowerberry's wife and his overseer. Charlotte - The Sowerberry's sluttish young daughter. Noah Claypole - Mr. Sowerberry's pimply apprentice. Mr. Grimwig - A Doctor. Mrs. Bedwin - The Brownlow's Housekeeper. Old Sally - A Pauper. Charley Bates - A boy in Fagin's establishment. A work about how we memorialize the dead – and how that remembering changes us – it is the odyssey of a woman forced to confront her own assumptions about morality, redemption, and the need to connect in a technologically obsessed world. ATTENTION! CURRENTLY CASTING FOR ELEMENTS WITH FOUR: THE SEARCH You do not want to miss you opportunity! WE ARE LOCATED IN AKRON, OHIO. A HIGH MAJORITY OF THE FILMING/ MEETINGS WILL BE LOCATED IN AND AROUND AKRON. Elements With Four: The Search is about four teenagers; Ambrena, Oledius, Mara, and Kai. All of them acquired powers and got them because of their past. Something happened to each of them, but they don't know exactly what it is. They eventually meet each other and figure out they aren't alone in their struggles; there are others in the same situation. Throughout the series, they try to figure out what happened to them, while dealing with problems and making relationships along the journey. We are currently casting for the the roles of Kai and Oledius; as well as some extras. Oedius- (Element is water) Power: Speaking & interacting with the water. He develops scales when touching water. (Male, Age Range: 14-17, must look 16) Kai- (Element is earth) Power: He can connect with the earth and make minerals/gems out of anything.
