Teen Acting Class to be taught by Harriet deVeto The class is open to high school age students for a four week run of 1.5 hours each class. The cost is $100. Auditions for "Little Women: The Musical" will take place Sunday, July 15 from 6 pm to 8:30 pm & on Monday, July 16 from 6-pm -8:30pm. Callbacks will be Tuesday, July 17 from 6-9pm (if needed). Dance auditions will occur from 8:30-9:30PM the day of your audition, so please bring clothes to change into. The show runs October 5-20, 2018, with the possibility of touring to a few schools. Directed by: Artistic Director Dawn Sniadak-Yamokoski Musical Direction: Dave Stebbins Choreographer: Jen Justice Please prepare a full contemporary musical theater piece (prefer legit with a mix of belt). PLEASE DO NOT SING FROM THE SHOW. Please have your music in original key and in a 3-ring binder with pages copied back to back. A headshot and resume will be helpful. A professional accompanist will be provided. You will be asked to dance, so please bring comfortable shoes. Regular rehearsals will begin Sunday, August 19, 2018 and run Sunday-Thursday. This timeless, captivating story is brought to life in this glorious musical filled with personal discovery, heartache, hope and everlasting love. Based on Louisa May Alcott's life, Little Women follows the adventures of sisters, Jo, Meg, Beth and Amy March. Jo is trying to sell her stories for publication, but the publishers are not interested – her friend, Professor Bhaer, tells her that she has to do better and write more from herself. Begrudgingly taking this advice, Jo weaves the story of herself and her sisters and their experience growing up in Civil War America. May 30th was “Movie Extra Day” and Prelude2Cinema shot a scene at Redspace (the event space at Hotcards ) featuring Senator Ferris opening “Little Girl Lost,” a haven for victims of sexual abuse and human trafficking. Although “Little Girl Lost,” is a fictional place in the TV series “Out of Darkness: Cleveland,” sexual abuse and human trafficking are very real horrors. SEEKING TEEN (high school) and YOUNG ADULT (college age) ACTORS for show about Gun Violence

Wandering Aesthetics is still seeking teens for our production of “Bang Bang You’re Dead”– a 45-minute show that addresses school shootings. This production will tour to local schools, churches and community organizations throughout the 2018 - 2019 school year. The show is operating on a “swing” system to rotate roles– so students don’t miss too much school. This show addresses gun violence, but it is not a show about gun control. Rather, it explores the events leading up to a shooting and the psychology of a the shooter. Though it’s centered around a white male shooter, this issue affects people from ALL walks of life and backgrounds. And we want to try and make sure that is represented on our stage. Which means that we, in particular, are looking for young folks: - Of color - Are LGBTQIA - That speak English as a second language - That have a disability No acting experience necessary. We’re looking for someone who can commit and who likes to work hard. Rehearsals will take place in Akron. Though Wandering Aesthetics cannot provide transportation, we will work with cast members to try and help arrange rides (within Summit County). This should be considered a volunteer role. Since we cannot sell tickets (part of the agreement to do the show), we cannot guarantee anything. However, Wandering Aesthetics is doing this as a labor of love. Our whole administrative team is doing this for free and Wandering Aesthetics will eat almost all associated costs. (We have to pay a small fee for our first performance space.) Any donations we receive for any of the performance of the show will be split among all the young folks who are working on the show. Review of "Bent" at the Beck Center for the Arts

Beck Center’s poignant ‘Bent’ bends but never breaks Bob Abelman Cleveland Jewish News, The News Herald, The Morning Journal Member, American Theatre Critics Association Few of us can imagine the indignation of being singled out, sequestered and assigned a yellow Star of David to wear. Fewer still can envision someone’s desperate desire to wear one. But this aspiration is at the very heart of Martin Sherman's Holocaust drama “Bent,” which calls attention to the lowest class status of homosexuals in the Nazi concentration camps – designated by a pink triangle – and the heightened severity of persecution, if such a thing is possible, that goes along with it. The horrifying acts of denial, deception and betrayal that the flamboyantly gay and gentile Max performs to obtain a Jewish star is the focus of this immensely powerful play. In its staging at the Beck Center for the Arts, “Bent” proves to be a still-relevant story about the oppression of queer individuals that needs to be told, though it does so with some glitches in the storytelling.
