CPT seeks an Education Coordinator willing to join its hard-working team with the ambitious goals of growing the organization and changing the community. DESCRIPTION of POSITION The Education Coordinator works closely with and reports directly to Director of Community Ensembles/Brick City Theatre Program Director. This position is a year-round, full time staff position, annually earning approximately 28,000-34,000. Benefits included. The position requires a highly motivated and organized individual who will take on administrative, producorial and community organizing responsibilities in support CPT's flagship education program, Brick City Theatre and Cleveland Act Now which offers afterschool and summer theatre arts education to children aged 5-14 who reside in Cleveland neighborhoods and public housing. The successful candidate will be collaborative, eager to learn, excited by working in the theatre, and have both strong administrative skills (Office Suite: Excel, Office, PowerPoint), and producing skills. The successful candidate will be excited to assist, coordinate and manage all day to day program management needs of Brick City Theatre and Cleveland Act Now as well as assisting administrative needs of Program Director. Background in theatre education or performing experience is not a must but is a plus. The successful candidate does need to be committed to and excited by working with communities of color to produce warm, exciting, empowering community experiences for our program's participants and families that support the overall vision of the program and organization. RESPONSIBILITIES The Education Coordinator will be responsible for assisting, coordinating and managing Brick City Theatre program management. This includes - but is not limited to - provide executive assistantship to Brick City Program Director; project manage play presentations; liaison and provide proactive communications with on-site partner staff; maintain and support record keeping and tracking of students; support student touring and family field trips; purchase and maintain classroom supplies and snack; and provide administrative support to a range of teaching artists. Reliable transportation is required. The Education Coordinator will also be expected to contribute their skills, energy and talents to the larger organization. This includes - but is not limited to -assistance on community events: Station Hope, Road to Hope, Pandemonium; and other staff-wide activities. While I was only 20 years old, the story immediately captured my attention; unrequited love, beautiful melodies and a total lack of misunderstanding amongst all the characters… now that was drama! Based on the Ingmar Bergman film *Smiles of a Summer Night*, this musical with a book by Hugh Wheeler, concerns three mismatched couples. Desiree Armfeldt, an actress, is seeing Count Carl-Magnus Malcolm who is married to Charlotte Malcolm. Frederik Egerman, Desiree's past lover, is married to the still-virginal Anne, who is half his age. Henrik Egerman, Frederik's son who is also a divinity student, loves his stepmother Anne, who is a year younger than him. Petra, Frederik and Anne's maid, Madame Armfeldt, Desiree's mother, and Frederica, Desiree's daughter round out the action which occurs in town and at "A Weekend in the Country" at Madame Armfeldt's house in the land of the midnight sun.
