Explore the themes, stories and characters of classic musicals like *Peter Pan* and *The* *Wizard Of Oz* through dance, song and creative play. Our critically acclaimed *Kids Love Musicals!* program continues to grow, and we need gifted teachers and performers willing to share their art and heart. *Job Title: *TMTP Teaching Artist *Reports to: *TMTP Executive Director *Contract Period:* September 2018-May 2019 (school year) *Hours: *Part-time, 2-4 days/week; 5-6 hours/day between 8am-3p *Salary & Benefits: *$100/day + monthly mileage stipend; paid training and professional development *Function: * · Deliver services related to *Kids Love Musicals! The talent I’ve seen here so far is no less than a big city, and I want to help you develop it. I don’t really like talking about credits, but I want you to know I’m not just someone who’s taken a few classes somewhere. I’ve been a working writer/performer in Los Angeles for over 10 years. I’ve acted in sketches on Human Giant, Key & Peele, and Conan. I’ve written sketches and digital series for FunnyorDie, Comedy Central, and Maker Studios. I was a writer/performer on a Maude (House) sketch team at The Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre in LA, and have also wrote/directed/produced multiple original shows there. I created UCB's The Midnight Show and was a writer/producer on Nick’s Big Talk Show with Nick Thune. I’ve worked with a lot of great people, and while I’m in Cleveland I want to help you build something here. We've made an intentional decision *not* to have a permanent space, so that our fiscal, time, and energy resources can be focused on producing theatre, not maintaining a building. As such, we've spent the past 6 years developing relationships with folks who can offer us both rehearsal and performance space from Canton to Cleveland - and everywhere in between - in exchange for rental fees, cross-promotion, shared programming, etc. This is also allowing us to develop an audience across Northeast Ohio that - so far - has been willing to travel within an hour's radius to see our productions. MOLLY SWEENEY will be produced at Weathervane Playhouse in Akron. THE END OF THE TOUR and SMOKEFALL both have multiple possible production homes, but will be confirmed definitively when the shows are cast to best leverage a "home court advantage." As potential actors, here's what you can expect. Rehearsals will be scheduled in a location central to everyone involved, and that information will be conveyed to you as part of a casting offer, so you know exactly what you're getting into before committing. Rehearsal location will almost certainly be different than final performance location - and you'll have *that* info as part of the offer as well. For some productions we may have a primary location (i.e. first two weekends in Cleveland) and a secondary location (third weekend in Canton); this information will also be part of your offer.
