Electronic pop band looking for a multi-instrumentalist / support musician. The band's sound is based around programmed electronic keyboards, with live guitar and bass. Our style is very 1980s, in the vein of Duran Duran, Tears For Fears, and Sade. We are looking for someone to add a more 'human element' to the music, and would prefer someone with the ability to add different instrumentation to the songs as needed. Respondents need to possess 2 or more of the following performance abilities: Sax (and/or flute), backing vocals, keyboards, aux percussion, guitar, violin, or bass. We are open to both male and female vocalists, but vocal ability, appearance, and stage presence are very important to this band - so please be realistic in your assessment of yourself. This is a professional project with long term goals, so be prepared to work. Practices are Tuesdays and Thursdays 6 to 9, with occasional Saturdays thrown in when needed. The Lakeland Community College Broadcast News program is preparing for it's annual ANG Broadcast. This program consists of various news segments and an anchor segment. We are currently looking for 1 male and 1 female to co-anchor this program. The finished product will be broadcast worthy and as we have found in the past, a very useful addition to an actor's portfolio. Review of "Summer: The Donna Dummer Musical" at Playhouse Square

Now is the ‘Summer’ of our discontent, on tour at Playhouse Square Bob Abelman Cleveland Jewish News, The News Herald, The Morning Journal In the film “The Martin” starring Matt Damon, astronaut Mark Watney is left for dead on the surface of Mars, but he is very much alive. While salvaging through the things his colleagues left behind in order to assess his resources for survival, he comes to realize that his only source of music is Commander Lewis’ vast collection of disco. “I’m definitely going to die up here,” Watney tells his video journal. “My God, Commander Lewis, couldn’t you have packed anything from this century?” If you attend the newly touring “Summer: The Donna Summer Musical” – a bio-musical about the life, times and tunes of the late-1970s/early-1980s disco icon – and are not a huge fans of the music or the artist, you will certainly relate to Watney’s sense of cultural deprivation. But even disco enthusiasts will find that, like Mars, there is a lung-compressing absence of atmosphere and not nearly enough gravity in this one-act roughly-100 minute minor work by co-writers Colman Domingo, Robert Cary and Des McAnuff, who also directs. SPOTLIGHTS’ COSTUMED CAROLERS AUDITIONSSaturday, October 26, 2-4 p.m. The Broadview Heights Spotlights’ locally renowned caroling group is accepting new members. The group sings a capella in 4-part harmony at various locations throughout greater Cleveland generally on weeknights and weekends. Past venues include country clubs, the Cleveland Aquarium, the downtown casino, community events, care centers, private parties, etc. Auditions will be held at the theater, 9543 Broadview Road (next to the Police Station), on Saturday, October 26, from 2-4 pm. Be prepared to sing a familiar Christmas carol of your choice without accompaniment; there will also be some pitch work. Four rehearsals will be held prior to the first engagement.
