African-American Actress-Singer needed for an upcoming performance of "Lynch", a play with music by award-winning playwright, F.A. Taylor, to play the role of Betty Shabazz (wife of Malcolm X). Actress must have a strong stage presence, as she delivers a powerful monologue during the course of the show, and must have a strong singing voice and be able to sing in a gospel style. A stipend will be provided for the performance. LYNCH by F.A. Taylor Location: Front Stage Theatre & Film Company 3492 Mayfield Road, Cleveland Heights, Ohio Production Dates: Friday & Saturday, February 21-22, 2020 at 7 pm Sunday, February 23, 2020 at 3 pm A benefit performance may be added on Thursday, February 20. Rehearsals begin week of 1/6/2020, three evenings a week. Exact days/dates will be based on actor availability. All actors must be available for daily rehearsals during show/production week. Auditions will be held on Sunday, January 5. Thursday January 16 and Monday January 20, 2020, from 6:00 to 8:30pm in the Strongsville Senior Center Craft Room, 18100 Royalton Road (behind the Target Plaza). Adults and teens, age 14 and up, should bring resume with head shot (if possible), and have prepared one 32-bar cut from contemporary musical theater. Accompanist is provided; please bring sheet music in a binder. Also have prepared one comedic monologue or short comedic story or joke (existing or original). Attempt to arrive no later than one hour before the end of the audition slot. Auditioners seen in arrival order. PERFORMANCE DATES: April 24 through May 3, 2020. Kids/Teens Musical Theater 8 Week Course w/ Showcase

Houde School Of Acting is now offering an 8-Week Musical Theater course for kids and teens! What’s Included? - 1 Class Per Week - Will Learn Their Vocal Range, The Audition Process, Movement & Dance, And Theater Etiquette - Will Perform One Audition Song At Showcase For Parents At Conclusion We will start this course at the beginning of February, the exact date is TBA. Please contact back with any interest. This course is open to kids ages 6-16 and costs $200 for 8 classes and includes a showcase. It will be taught by Kat Kellie, please see more about Kat below. About Kat Kellie Kat joined The Houde School of Acting as a student in 2017 and joined the teaching staff in 2019. She began her teaching career in high school giving flute and music theory lessons to younger students, and moved on to teach music and theater across the country with various organizations including Kindermusik, Weathervane Playhouse, Children’s Stage Adventures, and now The Houde School of Acting. Kat studied Arts Administration and Music Performance at SUNY Fredonia, where she was also captain of Poetry in Motion Winterguard. After leaving college she toured with a children’s theater company before settling down in Cleveland, where she has had the incredible fortune of working on numerous wonderful theatrical and film projects. Is he a psychopathic serial killer, a victim of a paranoid father's vivid imagination or something different altogether? It is a bit of CSI, a dash of Hitchcock and just a pinch of Serling.
