Hello NEOhioPAL! Playmakers Youth Theatre in Beachwood is still in need of a replacement for Alex the Lion in Madagascar The Musical. This is a lead role and we are looking to fill it with an actor in grades 6-9. We are open to casting a girl to play a boy for this part. Rehearsals are Sundays (1-3pm) and Mondays (630-830pm). The Movement Project Pre-Professional Summer Intensive Audition in Canton The Movement Project will be hosting an audition at Inspire Performing Arts Center in Canton February 24th for dancers aged 12-18 to take part in this year’s summer intensive July 29th-August 3rd. This one week intensive is geared for serious-minded dancers interested in furthering themselves as creative artists and who wish to deepen and grow their technical and performance knowledge. This intensive provides a rigorous daily schedule in professional training, creative practice and rehearsals taught by TMP artistic directors, company members, as well as notable guest artists in the dance community. The program will focus on modern dance technique, contemporary, ballet, improvisation, composition, injury prevention and somatic practices. In addition to movement courses, the program includes courses designed to prepare young artists for a career in dance such as, resume building, dance on film and marketing. As part of our marketing course, each artist will receive dance action shots for their portfolio. AUDITION CALL FOR LOCAL CLEVELAND DANCERS ON MARCH 15TH The Movement Project is hosting an open audition with Pam Tanowitz. Pam will be auditioning dancers for her upcoming project Recital #1 (five small dances for Cleveland). The Show will occupy historic Pilgrim Congregational Church March 22nd at 7pm and 9pm, and will be influenced by the unique space and individual dancers. Dancers from New York City-based Pam Tanowitz Dance will perform alongside performers from Cleveland’s The Movement Project and those local dancers selected from the audition. WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR: Advanced dancers, with performance experience. Must commit to all the rehearsal times. The work will be all set the week leading up the the performance, as a site specific project. Director’s Bio: Sara Bogomolny is a Cleveland-based director, actor, and educator. Recent directing credits include Young Frankenstein, DNA, and You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown. Sara has assisted at Beck Center for the Arts and Ensemble Theatre on productions including Body Awareness and Angels in America Parts I and II. She was recently seen on stage at Cleveland Public Theatre, Ensemble Theatre, and Beck Center for the Arts. Sara is an alumna of Case Western Reserve University and the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art Time Marks of European Theatre History course.

Dr. Christopher Hutton, Baritone, is taking new voice students and excited to get you physically and mentally prepared for auditions and performances. Dr. Hutton has a Masters Degree and Doctorate of Music Arts degrees in Vocal Pedagogy (Science of Singing) from Arizona State University, and is fluent in teaching both belting/music theatre technique and classical technique. Christopher attended Youngstown State University where he received his Bachelors in Voice Performance. He has also performed opera at regional opera houses for over thirteen years. Dr. Hutton offers free consultations to those interested before committing to the voice studio.
