Are you looking for ways to stand out on your admissions application? * Open to young men *and* women entering the 9th-12th grades *at any school*, the Saint Ignatius Summer Theater Intensive is a 2 week, 60 hour camp designed to prepare students for the college admissions process. The course, costing $300, runs July 8-12 and 15-19, from 10:30 am-5:00 pm. *This intensive is especially important to those interested in studying musical theater because it focuses on the areas that other applicants often overlook: monologue audition prep and technical theater foundations.* If you want the skills to stand out, this is your chance to work on them! At the completion of the camp, students have the opportunity to receive a 0.5 (1 semester's worth) Fine Arts credit recognized by the Ohio Department of Education. Aside from her two young children, the foremost focus in Rachel’s life has been dance in nearly every aspect of the art form. She received extensive training and has performed with the Medina Academy of Classical Ballet, Ohio Youth Ballet Company, Dee Hillier Dance, The Joffrey Ballet School, South Carolina Dance Conservatory, Cleveland Ballet, Ohio Ballet, and the Alvin Ailey School, to name just a few. She began her professional career with performance industrials around Ohio, and as a member of the Cleveland Cavaliers Dance Team. At the age of 20 she moved to New York City to further her career and spent the next ten years auditioning and performing at theaters such as City Center, Madison Square Garden, Merce Cunningham, and many other venues around the country. She has worked with numerous choreographers and companies including Mia Michaels, Jermaine Browne, Sheila Barker, the Underground Dance Project, Candace Franklin Dance, Clyde Bailey Dance Theater, and eventually as a principal dancer with the Vissi Dance Theater. Rachel has also performed in fashion shows, music videos, and musicals. Since returning to Ohio to raise her sons, she has performed pieces for Annika Sheaff of GroundWorks, Sarah Carey of Dance Cleveland, Regina Petraoria, Anna Cerveny, Sharan Marshall and Maddi Jackson of Cleveland Dance Project, and B-boy Tony Fresh. Rachel has worked with Ohio Dance Masters to teach and evaluate scholarship students. She recently choreographed an extremely well-received piece for Cleveland Dance Project and continues to teach, choreograph and attend classes. She holds a certification in nutrition, is a state tested nursing assistant (STNA) and has 20 years experience working with children. Spivey says of the production, "Despite the constant discrimination and torment Anne Frank, her family and the Jewish community faced, their hope and resiliency touched me as an African American. Summer Modeling Camp

This June’s Modeling Camp will be better than ever before, because we will have optional commercial acting classes that you can take too! Moms and dads of Teens and Tweens, sign your kids up for what many have said was their “Best Week of the Summer!” Camp runs Tuesday June 4th through the 7th, size is extremely limited so that the campers can be up in front of the camera many times per day. Parents are always welcome to wander in and see what we’re doing during the camp. Field High School Drama Performance

Field High School Drama Club Presents: My Fair Lady Eliza Doolittle (sophomore Eliana Smith) is a common flower girl making her living on the streets of London. She has a chance meeting with Professor Henry Higgins (senior Brice Sweazy), a scholar of the English language. Eliza hears the professor boasting to his colleague, Colonel Pickering (sophomore Khinawa Marler), that just by fixing Eliza’s speech, he could take out of her station in the gutters. Eliza contemplates the boast and decides to ask for lessons. The Colonel, uncertain that such a transition of stations is possible, makes a bet with Higgins. If Miss Doolittle can be transformed into a lady before the Embassy Ball, he would foot the bill for the experiment. Eliza proves to be a more challenging pupil than anticipated, and Higgins will have his work cut out for him. With classic songs such as Wouldn’t it be Loverly, With a Little Bit of Luck, and On the Street Where You Live, the stage is set for a hilariously heartfelt adventure. Will Higgins and Eliza be able to understand that the may not be able to just push their differences aside, and they they both may need to work for change? Come and see May 3,4,&5 as Field High School Drama Club presents My Fair Lady. Friday, May 3, and Saturday, May 4 shows will start at 7:00pm. Sunday, May 5 will be a matinee at 2:00pm. The Pirates of Penzance; or, The Slave of Duty, is a comic light opera in two acts, with music by Arthur Sullivan and libretto by W. S. Gilbert, the first superstar songwriting duo in musical theatre history! The Hudson Players' version is the one that was presented on Broadway in the early 1980s by Joseph Papp and the New York Public Theatre, starring Linda Ronstadt and Kevin Kline, on which the subsequent movie was also based. Filled with swashbuckling pirates, sweet young lovers, and bumbling policemen, Pirates of Penzance is as popular now as when it premiered at the Fifth Avenue Theatre in New York City on 31 December 1879, where the show was well received by both audiences and critics. Set during the time of Queen Victoria, it involves the dashing young Frederick (played by Logan Soland), an orphan who as a baby was mistakenly apprenticed to a pirate instead of a "pilot." Having reached the age of 21, Frederick is released from his servitude and immediately falls in love with the beauteous Mabel (Anna Popa), daughter of Major General Stanley (Brian O. Jackson). Alas, the young lad learns from his nurse maid Ruth (Norene Jones) that he was born on February 29, which means he only has a birthday in a leap year - once every four years. Since he is a "slave of duty," Frederick realizes he must be a pirate for another 63 years until his obligation is fulfilled, with the chaste Mabel agreeing to wait for him faithfully. Stir in the flamboyant Pirate King (Bradley Hills), his simpleton assistant Samuel (Gary Maher), Mabel's songbird sisters Kate (Jessica West), Edith (Kiara Durbin) and Isabel (Ellie Kelly), the Sergeant of Police (Eric Oswald) and his goofy posse, Pirates of Penzance is a slapstick-filled night of entertainment for the entire family. Other daughters, pirates and constables include Tenley Stitzer, Mike Turle, Judah Callahan, Nathan Hill, John Holcepl Sr., Glen Johnston, Jennifer Matas, Jerry Schaber, David Sherman and Jim Wolf. The show is directed by Mavis Jennings, with Ron Jones serving as musical director and Kristian Korsgaard as choreographer. The producers for the show are Dana Harro and Gary Maher.
