To apply for any job below, please visit: https://www.borderlightcle.org/work-with-us/ Patron Services Manager: Apply by: Mon., June 24 Contract: June 28 - August 5, part-time Salary: $2330 for a 5-week contract Description: The Patron Services Manager is responsible for all aspects of ticket sales, customer service, operations and personnel management of the Box Office for BorderLight International Theatre Festival + Fringe. Venue Managers: Apply by: Tues., June 25 Contract: July 21-28 (tbc) Pay rate: approximately $20/hour Description: In charge of the overall running of designated Festival venue, which may include more than one stage, including opening and closing the venue. Understand all venue specifications and rules. Problem solve for any issues that arise with staff, productions, or patrons in their venue. Should be able to assist in a technical capacity as needed. Report to Patron Services Manager; direct reports include House Managers and Volunteer Leads. House Managers: Apply by: Tues., June 25 Contract: July 23-27 (tbc) Pay rate: approximately $15/hour Description: Friendly, customer-facing role. Ensure the safety and well-being of the patrons in the space; prepare the theatre for patrons and coordinate their seating; address patron concerns, report issues to the Venue Manager each day; make pertinent announcements to patrons; report the house count for each performance; work with stage managers to turn the house over on schedule. Report to Venue Manager; direct reports include volunteer ushers. Box Office Hub Managers: Apply by: Fri., June 28 Contract: July 21-28 (tbc) Pay rate: approximately $15/hour Description: Oversee Box Office staff and ensure the smooth functioning of ticket sales at designated hub; supervise processing of all hub transactions and provide an accurate accounting of ticket sales; act as friendly customer service 'face' of the festival; will become familiar with Vendini and the technology necessary for ticket sales. Report to Patron Services Manager; direct reports include Box Office Associates. Box Office Associates: Apply by: Fri., June 28 Contract: July 21-27 (tbc) Pay rate: approximately $12/hour Description: Provide friendly, excellent customer service to patrons. Will need to have comprehensive knowledge of festival shows in order to actively promote them. Able to work under pressure; able to execute effective and efficient sales via Vendini, over the phone and in person (training in Vendini will be provided); responsible for accurately processing payments on the ticketing system. Report to Box Office Hub Manager. Akron Symphony Seeking Artists for Music and Art Poster Series

The Akron Symphony Orchestra will debut a Music and Art series for the 2019-20 season, with artists from across Northeast Ohio creating limited-edition posters for select concerts. Interested artists are asked to submit a poster design that represents their own interpretation of a selected concert based on the music and/or composer. There are no requirements on colors or the finished size of the poster. Up to four artists will be selected for each concert and selected artists: * will receive two free tickets for the performance, * will have the opportunity to display and sell their artwork the night of the concert at The University of Akron's E.J. Thomas Performing Arts Hall, * will have their poster featured on the Symphony's social media channels. "We are always exploring opportunities to create partnerships that have a positive impact on the community," said Thomas Moore, Director of Marketing for the Akron Symphony. "Musicians and artists have long inspired each other, so building a relationship between the Symphony and the many creative artists in Northeast Ohio is a natural extension of those longstanding ties." The performances that will be featured in the Music and Art series are: * Symphonic Shakespeare on October 19 * The Four Seasons on November 16 * Mozart's Requiem on February 22 * Symphonic Dances on May 16 Artists who are interested in participating in the project may submit their art by September 1, 2019, by visiting akronsymphony.org/music-art.?
