You see, instead of building 30 classrooms side-by-side, he built them one on top of another. Maybe that accounts for the wacky goings-on in Mrs. Jewls' class. Where else will you find children being turned into apples, dead rats wearing raincoats, and little girls who try to sell their toes? MISSING - Casting

We are currently looking to cast roles for a non-paid student film produced by students at Cleveland State University. There are three speaking roles, character descriptions can be found below: · ANNABELLE (16-17)/ZABRINA (early 20s). The protagonist kidnapped four years before the beginning of the story. Looking for an actress willing to do a few stunts involving the character. Preferably looking for an actress able to play both pre-kidnapped Annabelle and post-kidnapped Zabrina. At various points, the character changes from naïve and childlike, to internalized and obedient, to strong and resourceful, so ability to play a wide range a plus. · JERRY (early/mid 20s). The antagonist, our kidnapper. Looking for an actor willing to do a few stunts involving the character. At various points, the character is charming, conniving, manipulative, frightening, and violent, so the ability to play a wide range a plus. · JESSICA (40s). Annabelle’s mother, a small role. Demanding, with an underlying caring streak. We have shoot dates planned for March 21 – 22 and March 28 – 29. These are Saturdays and Sundays. Preferably actors/actresses for Zabrina and Jerry will be available all shoot days (as both characters are in the majority of scenes). There is more flexibility with the role of Jessica, who is only in two short scenes. As a warning: This film does contain scenes of domestic abuse and violence, as well as our protagonist who suffers from a form of Stockholm Syndrome. If this is not something you’re are comfortable with performing, these roles might not be for you. You are welcome to read a script and decide whether to audition or not. We are also willing to work with potential actors/actresses to accommodate scenes that they are worried about, to a certain degree that will not affect the overall quality of the film we are going for. We are also in need of extras (2 to 3) for a scene set in a grocery store, as well as extras for a scene set in a park. The shoot days of these scenes have not been finalized, but if you are interested in being an extra (if you aren’t available all shoot days or none of the speaking roles are of interest), please let us know. Atmosphere is the soul of the performance: it fills the space and radiates from bodies. How do we enter it from a place of unknowing and fully trust in ourselves to play in what we’ve found? Solo and ensemble explorations in concentration, movement, atmosphere, and gesture increase your flexibility, honesty, joy, and ease as a performing artist. The work becomes as alive as we are: consciously existing in that moment when we all gather to play. Ray is a performance artist, teaching artist, and the Founder of Michael Chekhov Center Cleveland. They have created pieces spanning theatre, cabaret, installation, web, and personal storytelling, and served as performer-creator in numerous devised works, originating over 30 roles. Ray’s creations have been performed at BorderLight International Theatre + Fringe Festival, Playhouse Square, Cleveland Public Theatre, Theater Ninjas (Associate Artistic Director 2012-2015), and the Cleveland Museum of Art. Caspio appeared on Best of Theatre lists for Cleveland Scene (2014 & 2017) and WCPN/NPR’s The Sound of Applause (2014, for the conception and performance of the immersive cabaret exploration of gender, sexuality, and marriage equality, TingleTangle). Caspio has taught for Playhouse Square, Disney Musicals-in-Schools, Cleveland Play House Theatre Academy, MetroHealth Arts in Medicine, and the Cleveland Museum of Art.
