The Lake Erie Crushers Baseball organization located in Avon, Ohio is looking for an on field female co-emcee to work in tandem with the current emcee during the upcoming 2020 baseball season. This is a paid position. The ideal candidate should have the following qualities: -a strong understanding of baseball. -good improv skills. -ability to conduct post-game interviews. -easily interacts with fans of all ages throughout the game and make those participating in on- field activities comfortable. -able to speak clearly and pronounce difficult names of players and fans. -singing ability is very helpful (National Anthem, Happy Birthday, & Take Me Out to The Ball Game). -this position will work with the current emcee on some home stands as well as working alone and needs to be comfortable doing both. - prior experience as a sports PA announcer, TV, or radio work is a plus. -must be comfortable speaking in front of large crowds (1000 plus). Duties include: - Be available for assigned home games. The season is from May through late August with the possibility of play offs in September. Lakewood's Beck Center is thrilled to announce auditions for its summer production of "*Something* *Rotten!*" Appointments are now being taken for SUNDAY FEBRUARY 23rd and MONDAY FEBRUARY 24th beginning each evening at 6PM. *To secure your appointment call 216-521-2540 x10 during regular Beck Center business hours (usually 9AM to 8PM Mon. thru Thur. and 12PM to 4PM Sundays)* For your open-call audition you will need only to prepare one 60 to 90 second vocal selection. Please bring sheet music in your key. An accompanist will be provided. *Dance Calls will only occur during call back sessions.* Call Backs will take place Saturday afternoon on Feb. 29th and Sunday evening on March 1st. Class will be held on Sunday 2/16 from 1-2:30pm at Creative Movement Center in Broadview Heights. Ages 16+ only. $12 with pre-paid registration 24 hours in advance here: www.clevelanddanceproject.com/classes $15 at the door *At the late age of 19, Carlin Michael, a Cleveland Native, took his first professional dance class ever in ballet. He received an internship in art administration and dance for Clevelands’ Ballet In the City for their Guys Dance Too Program and was able to meet and dance on the same stage as American Ballet Theater Principal Dancers Carlos Lopez and Misty Copeland. Led by his faith, Carlin Michael received the opportunity to choreograph and be in a music video for one of his favorite Christian artist “Gungor”. He then began teaching hip hop and training at Above The Barre Dance Company in Berea, OH where teachers there took him in as family. This opportunity led him to perform for the company as a lead dancer/performer in a rendition of Tchaikovsky’s “The Nutcracker” as the role of “Arabian” for two dance seasons. With hard work and faith, Carlin Michael was able to perform at Cedar Point in the shows, “SideShow: A Carnival of Magic” and the show “Luminosity: Ignite the Night” as a dancer and aerialist. He also began dancing and emceeing for an entertainment company “Rock The House Inc.” where he is now a headlining entertainer. Carlin Michael has taught for various competitive dance companies throughout NorthEast Ohio. In just his first year of teaching competitive dance, his choreography won his student and own little brother Ohio Dance Masters, “Junior Mr. Dance of Ohio” and eventually has become a Dance Industry Award nominee choreographer. After much training, teaching for various dance studios and directing artistic events for religious, non-profit, and community based organizations, Carlin went on to receive his first professional contract for Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines. There he performed in their most intense and athletic aqua show “The Fine Line” and theater show “Big Daddy Hideaway Heist” where he was Dance Captain for both shows! Within just five years Carlin Michael has accomplished heights others may take ten or more years to accomplish. CALL FOR TEACHING ARTISTS SUMMER 2020 ARTWORKS: JUNE 29 - JULY 31 * The Center for Arts-Inspired Learning’s ArtWorks is an arts-based job training and college readiness program for Northeast Ohio’s 10th, 11th, and 12th grade students. * Teens from Cuyahoga County Schools are enrolled to train under the guidance of master teaching artists, who mentor them in an art form while teaching them 21st century skills. * The apprenticeship experience allows students to develop time management, professional communication, problem solving, and critical thinking skills, which are transferable to any workplace or college. * Apprentices also participate in workshops that focus on financial literacy, resume writing, financial aid applications, and interview skills.
