Willoughby Summer Theater Festival: "Macbeth" and "Twelve Angry Jurors"

The Willoughby Summer Theater is back for its 2nd Season of FREE theater. This years offerings include: 12 Angry Jurors featuring: Vinny Horvath, Kennedy Smith, Chris Herak, Joe Taricska, Rollin DeVere, Mark Swinerton, Thomas Kim, Robert Haag, Joe Daprano, Stephen Morse, Zac Fromme, Steph Wismer & Denise Boothe. Directed by Darryl Lewis the remaining shows are Thursday, August 4th and Saturday, August 6th at 7 pm. Shakespear's Macbeth, (a joint production with Chagrin Valley Little Theater) adapted and directed by Michael Rogan features: Stephen Berg, Don Bernardo, Kate Williams-Bernardo, Kim Bixenstine, Kevin Derrick, Rollin Devere III, Brian Diehl, Jenn Hagaman, Thomas Kim, Claudia Lillibridge, Stephen Morse, Elizabeth Roter, Mark Swinerton, Michelle Vagi, Douglas Vanek. The remaining shows are Wednesday, August 3rd and Friday, August 5th. Shows start at 7 pm. Dance4Life is an afternoon of joy-filled song and dance. Stewart isa Theater-for-Young-Audiences (TYA) Production and will be directed by BrentonCochran and Kayleigh Joyce. The play tells the story of Emily, who has a bigproblem. Not only is she sent to bed just as she reaches the highestlevel of her new video game, but there’s a monster in her closet! It’snot just her imagination. Her friend Stephanie saw it, too. Suffering the teasing of her brother and his friends, Emily and Stephanierecruit some of their own friends to help capture the monster. What theydon’t know is that Murray, the closet monster, doesn’t mean any harm — he onlywants to play Emily’s new video game. He’s too scared of kids to eventhink about trying to frighten them. Murray’s boss, the Dream King, hasheard about his goofing off on the job, and now Murray is on probation.Murray’s supervisor, fellow monster Wanda, is not happy with him either. After all, every monster knows that when a child is born, a monster is assignedto watch over her — not to play with her toys and especially not to get caughtin the act! What will happen when Emily has all her friends over for asleepover to try to capture Murray? Even with Emily’s friend Brain’scareful analysis and planning, the girls wind up trapping the Dream King andhis secretary, Toady, instead of Murray. Performance dates areSaturdays, October 8 & 15 at 2:00PM and 6:00PM, and Sundays, October 9& 16 at 2:00PM Auditions are open toages 11 and up. There are roles for teens and adults. Director William Roudebush (Beck Center's “*Curious Incident of the Dog In The Night-Time*”) is offering a 5 week course based on his acclaimed book. "Acting By Mistake." This 2.5 hour weekly class will run Monday evenings from 6:30PM to 9PM at Beck Center starting Monday, August 8th and concluding Monday, September 12th (with no class on Labor Day, Sept. 5th) Tuition is $250 for the session. This same class is offered in NYC by instructor Roudebush for $500, but Beck Center is pleased to bring it to NE Ohio at a 50% discount.
