Team members must show they are open to notes from their coach and the Artistic Directors, and be willing to work at implementing those notes. Ohio Regional Music Arts and Cultural Outreach (ORMACO) is gearing up for its Fall World Tour of Music Residency, which will feature Akron-based musician Joe Leaman, and Trinidadian Liam Teague in a Celebration of Steel Drum: Music from Trinidad and Tobago from October 21-October 26. During the week, outreach programs will take place at Black River School District, Ashland Middle School, the Medina County Juvenile Detention Center, Medina County Public Library and the Western Reserve Masonic Community. Public events begin on Wednesday, October 23 at 6:30 pm as Joe Leaman presents a free Introduction to Steel Drum Music at the Medina County District Library, 210 S. Broadway, Medina, at 6:30 pm. On Thursday, October 24, ORMACO and the Cleveland Music School Settlement join forces to present a relaxed evening of steel drum music with Joe Leaman and Friends in the intimate Bop Stop venue. This concert mixes jazz, classical and pop music, as well as music of the traditional Caribbean cannon. Lighting Designer/Programmer The Chagrin Valley Little Theatre (CVLT) is looking for a lighting Designer/Programmer to work on a contract basis to design the lighting and program the CVLT Main Stage lighting console (ETC Ion Xe 20 <https://www.etcconnect.com/Products/Consoles/Eos-Family/Ion-Xe/Features.aspx>) for *The Sound of Music <https://cvlt.org/show-item/sound-of-music/>*. * Performance Dates: *Nov 15 - Dec 15, 2024* * Tech Saturday: Nov 9, 2024 Tech Sunday: Nov 10, 2024 * 40 River Street, Chagrin Falls OH Duties In this position, the Lighting designer will work closely with the show’s director to achieve the desired lighting vision utilizing the existing CVLT lighting inventory consisting of conventional instruments (Lekos, Fresnels), LED wash instruments, LED Specials (COB Cannons), LED Movers and, if needed, follow spots. * The Lighting designer will develop a working light plot in conjunction with the director and projection effects designer. * Once the plot is approved, the lighting designer will hang, circuit and focus lighting instruments as needed for the show. * Additionally, the lighting designer shall program the CVLT lighting console for all necessary cues required for the show. * The lighting design shall be implemented and tested before "tech Saturday," the weekend before opening. * The lighting designer will need to be onsite during tech week/dress rehearsal to make any changes to cues or refocus instruments as needed. * The lighting designer will also be available opening night to oversee the show operator and take care of any problems. CPT is seeking *part-time Substitute Teaching Artists* to assist in implementing CPT Education programming. Theatre experience is a plus. We are looking to build a strong core of artists who are dedicated to creating work to further racial and economic justice. This role pays $22/hr. ------------------------------ CMHA CLEVELAND ACT NOW CMHA Cleveland Act Now (CAN) takes place in partnership with the Cuyahoga Metropolitan Housing Authority (CMHA) at community centers for children and families who live in public housing. Under the guidance of CPT Teaching Artists, young artists learn how to create and perform their own plays, dance, poetry, music, and visual art. These multidisciplinary performing arts activities improve academic skills, instill empathy and responsibility, build character, and enhance creative thinking. The students regularly perform at CMHA community centers as well as arts festivals throughout Cleveland. CMHA CAN is offered in four CMHA communities: Lakeview Terrace, Woodhill Homes, Outhwaite Homes, and Riverside Park. CLEVELAND ACT NOW ACADEMY (CAN ACADEMY) Cleveland Act Now (CAN) Academy is a free performing arts program for younger teens and youth from Cleveland and surrounding neighborhoods, held on-site at Cleveland Public Theatre. The Juniors program serves youth ages 7-10, and the Seniors program serves youth ages 11-14. Young artists engage in rigorous (and fun!) theatre training, learning acting fundamentals, script analysis, storytelling techniques, and play creation. Y-HAVEN THEATRE PROJECT Y-Haven Theatre Project is a program for residents of Y-Haven, a YMCA center providing temporary housing and Substance Use Disorder treatment to individuals who are homeless, re-entering the community from incarceration, and/or recovering from Opioid Use Disorder. The program teaches performing arts and technical aspects of theatre while addressing critical personal, interpersonal, and job-related skills through a comprehensive process. They discover Charley, the deputy mayor of New York, unconscious with a shotgun and an injury to his earlobe, and Myra nowhere to be found. As the rest of their friends begin to arrive, the couple’s attempts to cover up the incident leads to a web of rumors, twists and hilarity.
