Madam who is more interested in secrets than sex. MRS. PEACOCK – (Female, 50s+) The church-going wife of a Senator. A bit batty, neurotic, and quick to hysteria. MRS. WHITE – (Female, 30s-50s) A pale, morbid, and tragic woman. Mrs. White may or may not be the murderer of her five ex-husbands. COLONEL MUSTARD – (Male, 40s-60s) A puffy, pompous, dense, blow-hard of a military man. PROFESSOR PLUM – (Male, 30s-40s) An academic Casanova who woos women with his big … brain. MR. GREEN – (Male, 20s-40s) A timid, yet officious, rule follower. He’s a bit of a klutz and awfully anxious. MR. BODDY – (Male, 20s-50s) A mobster type fella. A dark cloud follows this guy wherever he goes. THE COOK – (Female, 20s-60s) A threatening presence. THE COP — (Male, 30s-50s) A “Regular Joe.” THE MOTORIST – (Male, 20s-50s) A benign gentleman who rings the wrong doorbell. SINGING TELEGRAM GIRL – (Female, 20s-40s) A tap dancer with a heart of gold. Tap dancing skills not necessary. AUXILIARY SCARLET – (Female, 20s-60s) The back of Miss Scarlet during a scene of theatrical trickery. AN AGENT – (Female, 20s-60s) An FBI agent who helps to save the day. AUXILIARY MUSTARD - (Male, Any Age) The back of Colonel Mustard during a scene of theatrical trickery. AUXILIARY WADSWORTH – (Male, Any Age) Wadsworth during two scenes of theatrical trickery. AN AGENT – (Male, 20s-50s) An FBI agent who helps to save the day. Some actors will be cast in multiple roles to create a small 3-4 person ensemble playing the all characters with smaller roles. *All roles in this production are on a volunteer basic, there is currently no compensation available for the actors involved in this production* SYNOPSIS: Prepare for an evening of mystery and outright hilarity with Clue: On Stage, the uproarious play by Sandy Rustin, based on Jonathan Lynn’s iconic 1985 screenplay and inspired by the classic board game from Hasbro. This whodunit invites you to join six eccentric guests at a remote mansion, where murder and mayhem are on the menu. As bodies start piling up, everyone becomes a suspect and a detective as the group tries to piece together the clues and uncover the culprit. With its rapid-fire dialogue, clever plot twists, and side-splitting humor, Clue promises a thrilling and entertaining theatrical experience. CHARACTER DESCRIPTIONS: Justin – (Male, 20s-30s) A socially awkward young man who also happens to be low handicap golfer. In real life, his nervousness and uncertainties often overtake his actions. Louise – (Female, 20s-30s) A perfect match for Justin in that she, too, possesses some naive, awkward social graces. She is sexy and sweet and very proud of her accomplishments, but is also given to extreme reactions to set backs. She cries a lot. He has been frustrated by years of a mismatched marriage and is intimidated by his wife while mooning over his former love interest, Pamela. Pamela – (Female, 30s-50s) The somewhat cynical divorcee who has left Dickie (Director of the Crouching Squirrel) behind. She is the helper, the fixer upper of things gone bad, the object of Bingham’s devotion. Dickie – (Male, 30s-50s) The insufferable bore who is the Director of the Crouching Squirrel. He dresses loudly and tastelessly meaning that his appearance matches his personality. Muriel – (Female, 30s-50s) The overbearing wife of Bingham. It was revived on stage with Julie Harris and Charles Durning as well as James Earl Jones and Cicely Tyson, and for television with Mary Tyler Moore and Dick Van Dyke. Actors Stephen Morse and Kate Williams-Bernardo performed it together at the Willoughby Summer Theater under the direction of Michael J. Rogan this summer, and are pleased to reprise their performance for this special event. CVLT’s River Street Playhouse, housed in a former industrial space across the parking lot from the main CVLT building, was founded in 1978 through the vision of Don Edelman and the building's owner, Steve Shields. Throughout the early 2000s it focused on smaller, newer, or more unusual material, as well as serving as CVLT's primary storage space for costumes, props, and scenery. CVLT took ownership of the building when Mr. Shields passed away in 2011 and has been working to revive it. THE GIN GAME marks the first time audiences will be invited into our 65-seat proscenium space post-COVID, following improvements including updated lighting and sound. The proceeds from this volunteer performance will help to continue much needed repair and maintenance work.
