Auditions for The Music Man! September 8th& 9th We are pleased to announce that The Hudson Players are holding auditions for the musical The Music Man: Book, Music and Lyrics by Meredith Willson. Based on a story by Meredith Willson and Franklin Lacey. Produced by special arrangement with Music Theatre International. Auditions are: September 8 & 9 beginning at 7pm. Directed by Claudia Lillibridge, auditions will be held at the Barlow Community Center, 41 S. Oviatt St in Hudson. Performances: November 1,2,8,9,10*,15,16,17*,22,23; 2024. (Sunday November 10 & 17 are special 2:00 pm matinees). Audition overview and additional information available below and at www.hudsonplayers.com. Our Sunday auditions will begin at 5pm for any children that wish to try-out for the show. We have a limited number of roles available for children under the age of eight. However, we encourage all enthusiastic performers to audition! Harold Hill, a smooth-talking salesman with a knack for deception, arrives in River City, Iowa, with a scheme to exploit the town's naivete. He convinces them to invest in instruments and uniforms for a boys' band he promises to lead, despite his complete lack of musical knowledge. His plan to pocket the money and disappear is thrown off course when he unexpectedly falls for Marian, the librarian. Please bring sheet music for the accompanist and prepare at least a 16-bar audition song. Auditions may also include a movement exercise and reading from the script. The Hudson Players are an all volunteer award winning, community theatre. All roles in our productions are always open to auditioners, with no restrictions. Those auditioning will be asked to read from the script. Auditions usually last at least two hours and while it is best to be there at the beginning, those with schedule restrictions can come later. Those interested in working backstage, on sets, lights, etc., are encouraged to come to auditions as well and fill out a form letting the producer know their areas of interest. Andrews Osborne Academy kicks off its 4th annual Willoughby Summer Theater Festival with three exciting shows including:” The Gin Game”, “You Can’t Take It With You” and “The Importance of Being Earnest”. Tickets are FREE but reservations are strongly encouraged. Shows take place between July 26, 2024, and August 4, 2024. Productions are made possible through a grant from the Ohio Arts Council. Weller Martin and Fonsia Dorsey meet on the porch of their nursing home and strike up a friendship, with Weller teaching Fonsia how to play gin rummy. As they play, they share stories about the lives they led in the outside world. But when Fonsia wins every hand, Weller becomes increasingly frustrated, until their gin games and conversations become a battleground. The Gin Game becomes a metaphor of life, with each player exposing the other’s failures, disappointments and insecurities. This production features Stephen Morse as Weller Martin and Kate Williams Bernardo as Fonsia Dorsey. This production is directed by Michael Rogan with stage management by Helen Rizi Rogan. “You Can’t Take It With You”, by Kaufman and Hart won the Pulitzer Prize for Drama and the Academy Award for Best Picture. Grandpa Vanderhof and his wacky family, the Sycamores, have been happily living their zany lives in his house by Columbia University in New York for many years. This family (and their friends) are a madcap group of eccentrics, marching to the beat of their own drum, with pride and joy. “You Can’t Take It With You” is a madcap, idealistic comedy that reinforces the idea that you can only live life to the fullest by doing whatever makes you happy. This production features Tom Wenzt as Grampa Vanderhof, Halle Graham as Alice, Zoc Fromme as Tony, Steph Wismer as Penelope, Joe Daprano as Paul, Chris Herak as Mr. Kirby, Jennifer Vladic as Mrs. Kirby, and Robert Haag as Kolenkov. Rounding out the cast are John Roskos, Christina Katsara, Ian Graham, Angela Rich, Tommy Kim, Denise Bothe, and Kim Bixenstein. In this trivial comedy for serious people, watch as these two hypocritical Victorian aristocrats humble themselves just so they can wind up with the girl of their dreams. Relocating back to Cleveland

Hey everyone. I am a theatre professional relocating back to the Cleveland area after 13 years of living and working in professional theatre in New York City. As a stage manager, I have worked under Equity contracts, worked with Broadway actors, off broadway, two TYA tours and a vaudeville midwest tour. My very first production in NYC was Threepenny Opera with Marvel Rep who was nominated for a Drama Desk Award along side big broadway and off broadway commercial shows such as Follies revival, Porgy and Bess, and Carrie: The Musical. Other experience in theatre include Lead Producer of The Revenger's Tragedy an early stage workshop rock musical based on Thomas Middleton's play of the same name. Assistant Production Manager and PA for one of Off Broadway's leading company Atlantic Theatre Company. I also interned with with the general and company managers of 321 Theatrical Management, representing Broadway's Wicked, Sister Act and Peter and the Starcatcher. Finally, experience in regional company management at Paper Mill Playhouse for Peter Pan. I have A LOT of New York experience. As I had started my early career as a stage manager in Cleveland having worked for The Beck Center, Theatre Ninjas, Willoughby Fine Arts as well as run crew at Carousel Dinner Theatre, Cleveland Playhouse and for local tours at Stocker Arts Center in Elyria. I'm looking to reinvent myself as well as continue learning what i need to be a better person and theatre professional. As I begin the next chapter in my life, I will be returning to Cleveland on August 1st, 2024. I will be looking for work both Theatre work and office work. Or customer service based work. Knowing how Cleveland Theatre worked years ago, I am not afraid of reasonable stipended work. If anyone has any leads to this work i would graciously welcome.
