With the insightful guidance of his therapist, Dr. Morada, Adam confronts past traumas, navigates new love, and seeks validation in a world built primarily for hearing people. The play uniquely highlights the complexities and intersections of Deaf and hearing worlds, underscoring both societal misunderstandings and the quiet resilience required to overcome them. This weekend, join us for a talkback with the cast following the Saturday performance, or for a chat with Caroline Jackson Smith, professor of theater and Africana studies at Oberlin, after the Sunday matinee.* When new father Jeff Browning receives the results of an ancestry test that he's taken to gain admittance to a white supremacist brotherhood, he gets an unexpected surprise. What transpires garners the attention of a prominent Black journalist-- attention that Jeff (and his small town) aren't sure they want. A dark comedy about the lengths we'll go to to feel connected to something larger than ourselves, AMERIKIN makes a passionate and provocative case for walking a mile in someone else's shoes - regardless of the cost. URGENT CASTING NOTICE: Seeking video auditions for immediate casting of the following role in Broadview Heights Spotlights production of Schoolhouse Rock Live!: JOE: A figment of TOM's imagination. Represents the cool side -- laid back and fun loving. Should move well. Sings Schoolhouse Rock hits such as Conjunction Junction, Rufus Xavier Sarsaparilla, and more. Range C3-G4 Traditionally male presenting but this role is open to all gender identities. The show runs May 2 – 11, 2025 and will include double shows on Saturdays (2:00 PM and 6:00 PM) and Sunday matinees (2:00 PM). Rehearsals begin 3/18 and we are looking to add this actor ASAP pending availability. No equity contracts are available at this time. All roles are volunteer.
