Join us from the Barn at our monthly installment of Acting Up at the Chestnut Beer Garden (CBG Falls) for our open mic and readings series. Wednesday July 16th from 6pm-8pm, this month we revel in the dog days of summer. Let us embrace the heat (and cool off with pint). For us, the summer @WRP we operate in an old barn and keeping to cool can be a challenge, so we might as well embrace it. Bring us your hottest takes on the state of the world, your steamiest poems, your songs and characters that drip with the sweat of a road crew on route 8 in the middle of July during a drought. Interstitially WRP will have readings and discussion from the like of Sam Shepard, Jean Genet, Percy Shelly, and those that have found poetry in the oppressive rays of the sun. Gender: male - Age: 40 to 60 Vocal range top: G4 - Vocal range bottom: C#3 Lord Savage Lord Savage is noted in the script as “having better things to do” and those things are probably to see and be seen around town in the best clubs, establishments and company. Titled from birth, he’s probably used his money to gain status. He is a bit of a dandy. General Lord Glossop A pompous retired army man and member of the Board of Governors. Gender: male - Age: 50 to 60 Vocal range top: C4 - Vocal range bottom: G#3 Sir Archibald Proops A Q.C. and government official. Busy man, “quick and methodical”, likely equates everything to it’s relevance to the law. He would be the guiding force on the board of governors in terms of what is lawful, so would be quick to quash anything that he deemed ill advised. Emma Carew The daughter of Chairman Danvers and Jekyll's beloved fiancée who is refined and desired by all of the socialite men. Gender: female - Age: 20 to 25 Vocal range top: C6 - Vocal range bottom: A3 Lucy Harris The gorgeous 'main attraction' at a local gentleman's club. At the bottom of her luck, she becomes the object of Hyde's obsession. Lucy is feisty and wild, but also cautious and aware.
