Kaufman and Moss Hart. The musical (with a book by George Furth) was first produced in November of 1981, where it ran for 17 performances. Not very successful eh? It tells of the disintegration of the friendship of successful songwriter Franklin Shepard, his lyricist and best friend Charlie Kringas, and novelist Mary Flynn. The action moves backward through time, from 1976 to 1957. This is one of Stephen Sondheim’s most accessible and difficult scores. It is most certainly about friendship and its importance in the lives of three people. This show has great personal meaning to me. And while the book is problematic; I am confident that our production team and the actors that are cast can overcome this. This is one great play. *Production Dates:* *Merrily We Roll Along **will open on Friday, February 2, 2018 and run through February 18, 2018. There will be nine (9) shows; that is three (3) weeks of performances. * *NIGHTTOWN Dates:** NIGHTTOWN KICKS OFF MASTER CLASS SERIES. * In January, *Merrily* comes to the Nighttown stage when Dr. Martin Friedman, adjunct theater professor at Lakeland Community College and Baldwin Wallace, will deliver a “Master Class” on why this musical that so many thought was destined for success, flopped on Broadway after only 16 performances – and why over the last 30 years it’s become one of Sondheim’s most beloved musicals. The Nighttown “Master Class” includes music director Jordan Cooper and Lakeland cast members performing several songs from *Merrily*. Other Master Class programs at Nighttown, with similar formats and different directors, will be announced soon. *Master Class at Nighttown: “Deconstructing” Sondheim’s Merrily We Roll Along* will premiere on January 8 at 7:00 pm and repeat on January 22. Keyboardist Needed for Work In Progress

Looking for a keyboardist for an upcoming theatrical project, "Bipolar Mixtape" which will be presented as part of a local theatre's festival of new work in progress. Must have own keyboard or be able to access one for rehearsal and performances. Should be able to learn simple tunes relatively quickly, improvisational skills are a plus, but not a requirement. Ability to read sheet music is not a requirement (if you can learn and play WELL by ear, that’s perfect.) Access to small percussive instruments is a plus, but not a requirement. An artist of color is a plus, but not a requirement. The Dancing Wheels Company, Cleveland-based and America’s first, professional, physically integrated dance company, now in its 37th anniversary season, seeks to hire qualified male and female dancers with and without disabilities for the 2018-2019 season. The Dancing Wheels Company is a national touring company that works with highly acclaimed choreographers each year. Most recent works include full-length pieces from Donald McKayle, Dianne McIntyre, Nai-Ni Chen, Christopher Fleming, Michael Uthoff, Peter Kalivis, David Rousseve and David Dorfman to name a few. The 12 member ensemble trains together with both stand up and sit down wheelchair dancers in an equitable and accessible environment giving equal opportunity for training and employment for all. The preferred candidates should be proficient in ballet, modern and partnering. Experience and training required, must be able to work full‐time and tour throughout the nation. I have worked with the Lake Erie Crushers for the past two seasons in Avon, Ohio. This is a good organization with a solid reputation. If you are interested in this fun position, please get in touch with them. Description The Lake Erie Crushers is looking for a skilled, outgoing, and jubilant performer to serve as a part-time mascot for the 2018 season. This individual must have availability and flexibility to perform as "Stomper Bear", at local schools, festivals, events, and for games as needed, beginning immediately. The mascot will serve an essential, highly visible role in representing the Crushers throughout our local community. We are looking for reliable, focused, and driven individuals to fill this role on our team. *Compensation* - Position pays $10 per hour on game days and community appearances. *The position is not full-time.* Qualifications § Active and energetic, with a positive attitude. § Needs to be a quick-thinker: Must be able to follow direction and improvise when necessary. § Required to be on your feet and moving for an extended period of time, meaning that you must be in adequate physical condition. § Able to interact comfortably and naturally with fans of all ages. § An outgoing personality inside the suit. § Must be able to perform in different weather conditions (hot & cold temperatures, windy, etc.) § Must be available for Monday through Friday during school hours as well as evening and weekend community events. § Must be available for all game days including those on weekends, holidays, and during the early afternoon games (11:05am, 12:35pm games). Cantankerous old women, one upmanship, secret bets, comedy and firetrucks.

Auditions will be held on January 7 and 8 for Ripcord by David Lindsay-Abaire and produced by special arrangement with Dramatist Play Service at the Heritage Barn located at 5238 Young Road Stow, Ohio from 7 PM to 9 PM each evening. The Story: A sunny room on an upper floor is prime real estate in the Bristol Place Senior Living Facility, so when the cantankerous Abby is forced to share her quarters with new-arrival Marilyn, she has no choice but to get rid of the infuriatingly chipper woman by any means necessary. A seemingly harmless bet between the old women quickly escalates into a dangerous game of one-upmanship that reveals not just the tenacity of these worthy opponents, but also deeper truths that each would rather remain hidden. Cast consists of 3 women and 3 men who can play these ranges: Abby Binder – senior home resident 60 – 80 Marilyn Dunne – senior home resident 60 – 80 Scotty – Resident Aide 20-30 Benjamin, Lewis & Clown – 40s Colleen & Woman in White – 30-40s Derek, Zombie Butler and Masked Man – 30-40s No AEA contracts available for this show. Auditions will consist of cold reading of scenes from the show. Please be prepared to stay for entire time and bring your headshot / resume, and conflict calendar for January 22 thru March 24.
