Weathervane Playhouse is set to take you "Under the Sea" in the Disney musical adaptation of Hans Christian Andersen's Classic AKRON - Weathervane Playhouse presents its first production of our 2017-2018 season, Disney's The Little Mermaid, July 27 through August 13, 2017. Based on one of Hans Christian Andersen's most beloved stories and the classic animated film, Disney's The Little Mermaid is a beautiful love story for the ages. With its tuneful songs and compelling story, this fishy fable will capture your heart with its irresistible songs, including Under the Sea, Kiss the Girl, Poor Unfortunate Souls, and Part of Your World. Director Chris Simmons says of the production, "I am beyond thrilled to be making my Weathervane directing debut with Disney's The Little Mermaid and with the Emerging Artist Series! I am continuously impressed with the level of talent and professionalism of the young actors at Weathervane." Disney's The Little Mermaid runs Thursdays through Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at 2:30 p.m. for the first weekend, and at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday, at 7:30 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, and 2:30 p.m. on Sundays for the remainder of the run. They will also have a chance to meet Ariel after the show. This event starts at 6:30 p.m. and runs up until show time and is free with your ticket purchase to that evening's performance. He falls in love with Clio, disguised as Kira, as she attempts to help inspire him in his art. The actor playing Sonny Malone must be able to move well in roller skates.

It willbe held Friday, August 11th, rainor shine, from 7PM to 10PM. Theconcert will feature the band “Stu and the Brew”. Information can be found on their website: http://stuandthebrew.webs.com/ There will be a “Cruise-In” hosted by Next Level AutoDetailing with specially designated parking area for the vehicles. Moniesraised from Cruise-In activities will be donated to a pre-designated localcharity. The concert event will take place on the Broadview Centergrounds (9543 Broadview Road) in the pavilion near the football field. Therewill be plenty of free parking as well as shelter in the event of rain. Foodand adult beverages will be available for purchase. The event will cost $10 per child (accompanying parents are at no additional charge but they must make a reservation). Reservations are in addition to the price of the show ticket. Tea Time with Mrs. Potts:Come and dine in our French provincial town and meet the characters from Disney’s Beauty and the Beast. They will be coming around to the tables to visit and you will be able to get their autograph in a special coloring/autograph book designed just for this occasion. This will be a special “reservation only” lunch that will include a light meal (sandwiches, fruit and cookies) and all the tea you would like. Mrs. Potts will be sharing a few thoughts with the children as well as a story where the enchanted objects solve a mystery along with the help of the audience. The parent meal does not include the autograph/coloring book and other extra items for the children. Reservations are in addition to the price of the show ticket.
