A monologue-centered acting class, join Ohio Shakespeare Festival for a two day workshop focusing on verse, direct audience address, expression through consonants and vowels, and other classical acting techniques. EDWARD ALBEES THREE TALL WOMEN OPENS THIS FRIDAY, MAY 20 AT CONVERGENCE-CONTINUUM "an undeniably affecting emotional core and a shimmeringly black sense of humor" (New York Times) convergence-continuum continues its 2016 Season with Edward Albees THREE TALL WOMEN. Our modern American classic for this season earned a Pulitzer and three Best Play awards for 1994. Edward Albee has, in THREE TALL WOMEN, created a masterwork which follows a feisty 92-year-old womans reflections on her family, now departed or estranged, and how it has shaped her life - a life filled with a mixture of shame, pleasure, regret, and satisfaction. The three women are 92, 52 and 26 years old. At one point they are three different women, but eventually they seem to merge into the same women at three different stages of her long and tumultuous life. THREE TALL WOMEN is directed by Tom Kondilas, and features Lucy Bredeson-Smith, Teresa McDonough and Sarah Kunchik. THREE TALL WOMEN opens this Fri, May 20 and runs Thurs-Sat at 8 pm through June 11 at the Liminis Theater, 2438 Scranton Rd, Cleveland 44113 in the historic Tremont neighborhood. Shout Out to Steppin' Out on their 60th Year!!!!!

Hi Everyone! For 60 years Steppin' Out has been entertaining and giving back to the communities of Northeast Ohio. They won the Tuesday evening Fox 8 Glee Competition against 7 other show choirs in 2011! They have worked hard and donated thousands of hours to putting on a great show every May, then taking a scaled down version of that show around to area nursing homes, hospitals, senior centers and community gatherings. Please help us in celebrating their 60th year with them. Alumni will be joining them on stage for a couple of numbers - it's going to be a great show! *The curtain goes up at Hope Community Church 6941 Columbia Rd., Olmsted Falls, at 7:30 on Friday, May 20th and Saturday May 21st and again at 2:30 pm on Sunday, May 22nd. Playwrights Local 4181 announces the world premiere of Les Hunter’s contemporary drama, To the Orchard. Directed by Dale Heinen, the play runs May 27 through June 5 at Waterloo Arts in North Collinwood and June 10 through 12 at Dobama Theatre in Cleveland Heights. In To the Orchard, college student Rachel Bergman reveals her sexual identity to her Orthodox Jewish father, who also is struggling with his own hidden past. In coming to terms with each other--and themselves--the pair must reconcile the conflicting pulls of tradition and individual desire. The play takes place in Brooklyn in the recent past, but incorporates dreamlike visits to turn-of-the-century England and the lost Jewish Eastern Europe. The spirits of Robert Plant and Virginia Woolf add a touch of magic realism to this intimate work about making mistakes, coming clean, and the power of history and family. The cast of To the Orchard features Robert Branch, Kelsey Angel Baehrens, Andrea Belser, and Michael Regnier.
