About the Summer Theatre CAMP: Down the Rabbit Hole: “Why, sometimes I've believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast.” Join Wandering Aesthetics’ Education Director and Storyteller Kyle Jozsa as he guides students down the rabbit hole. Using theatrical concepts, including imagination, character creation and teamwork, students will explore the world of Alice in Wonderland culminating in the development of their very own story. This week long summer camp will introduce students to the concepts of live performance. Each morning, in his engaging style, Jozsa will teach students the fundamentals, and some more advanced techniques, of theatre. Each afternoon, students will collaborate to craft their tale in an atmosphere of cooperation and playfulness, culminating in a final performance for friends and family. Students should bring a brown bag lunch. About the Instructor: Kyle Jozsa is the Artistic Director, Education Director and primary Storyteller with Wandering Aesthetics. He began his teaching career in 2010 with Weathervane Playhouse. Jozsa has worked full-time as a preschool teacher, developed curriculum for traditional and non-traditional classes alike and led many workshops for students of all age groups. He currently works as a Teaching Artist for HBTI, The Artful Living Program out of Stark County and as a part-time Instructor at Gymboree in Strongsville. Along with local artists, Jozsa is working to bring a play-based enrichment program to the Akron area.

Ensemble Theatre will present a Touring piece "Lovingly Your's, Langston and Lorraine in Rocky River on the 26th of June. This production will require a bit of rehearsal for the single production on Sunday the 26th and could lead to further opportunities to play the role in future tours that are booked. We are in need of an actress to play the role of *LORRAINE HANSBERRY.* The show consists of two tables with typewriters and is a lively and loving conversation between Langston Hughes and Lorainne Hansberry as both talk about the wonders of their work as writers. *There will be a stipend for this role. * Unfortunately with the current nature of the tour we cannot use any AEA contracts for the roles. Volunteer judges will read and choose eight plays to be performed at the Playhouse during 8x10 TheatreFest Weekend, July 15, 16 and 17, 2016. Audience members will rank the plays, and following Sunday's matinee, winners will be announced and cash prizes awarded. The deadline for entries is midnight on Friday, May 13, 2016. Play finalists will be announced on May 27, 2016. Each of the eight finalists will receive a full production of his or her play - performed by volunteer actors - and two complimentary tickets to 8x10 TheatreFest. Auditions for actors age 17 and up will take place on May 29 and 30 with details to be posted soon. All applicants will receive acknowledgment of receipt of submissions and administrative fee, notification of 8 finalist plays, preceding TheatreFest and notification of winners, following the conclusion of TheatreFest. The play remains the sole property of the playwright. Last year's winning play was Black Friday by Jennifer Tromble of North Tonawanda, New York. It was directed by Ian Haberman and featured Meg Hopp, Alex Nine and Rachel Gehlert. Play finalist came from as far away as Vancouver, British Columbia and Fairbanks, Alaska.
