Sound andProjection Technician:The Cleveland Play House, America’s first regional theatreand a Tony Award recipient, has an immediate opening for a Sound and ProjectionTechnician. This position will help withthe installation of sound and video equipment for all CPH productions, runsound during performances and maintain the audio and video for each production. Basic knowledge of audio and video systems andability to do a live mix required. Experiencewith Digico consoles, QLab, and WatchOut Video Playback System strongly desired. Music background and ability to read a score aplus. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. and be comfortable working on Genie liftsand tall ladders. Qualified candidate will be a team player and be able to workclosely with designers and co-workers. Minimum of 2-3 years professional experience, preferably in regionaltheatre. Auditions will be held on Sunday, August 16th from 2pm-3:30pm at the Turning Pointe School of Dance (2387 Locust St. S Canal Fulton, OH 44614). Dancers should have strong classical ballet training and at least one year of Pointe experience. Please come dressed in ballet attire and bring your pointe shoes. There is a $15 audition fee due at time of audition. The Indie Gathering International Film Festival is coming up August 27th-30th at The Clarion Inn & Conference Center in Hudson, OH. Don't miss out on the networking event of the year! The event features 138 films from around the world, two days of industry lectures and panel discussions, acting competition, stunt competition, FX makeup competitions, a convention, networking parties and more. Advance tickets can be purchased until August 15th, and passes will also be available at the door. We have also extended our early registration for the acting and stunt competitions to August 15th. On Friday, August 14th be a part of a great event to be featured in a 2016 photo exhibit. Come to Lovejoy Photography @ 1017 Fairfield Ave. (Near LOOP & W. 11th St), Cleveland, OH 44113 in Tremont to have your photo taken at no cost. The time will be during Tremont's Art Walk from 6 pm - 8:30 pm. Be a part of CLE: Through the Lens, in which photos of Clevelanders will be featured in a 2016 photo exhibit alongside one-line quotes and anecdotes. With hundreds of color and black and white photos, including exclusive portraits, CLE: Through the Lens will be a stunning collection of images that showcase the outsized personalities of the people of Cleveland starting in historic Tremont. *Please Note New Director* *AUDITIONS * for *THE BOYS NEXT DOOR* By Tom Griffin *A Tender Heartwarming Comedy* Directed by *JACK WARREN* *Auditions* *7 pm* *Sunday Aug. 23* *& * *Monday Aug. 24* *AURORA COMMUNITY THEATRE* *115 E Pioneer Trail * Auditioners will read from the script for the following roles: · *Arnold Wiggins* is a man who lives with a mild mental disability who works at a movie theater as a janitor. He tends to be very obsessive compulsive. He is hyperactive and talks constantly. He's also often abused by coworkers and afraid to fight back. When he becomes angry or scared, Wiggins repeats the word 'nyет', meaning *no* in Russian, and threatens to run away to Russia. · *Norman Bulansky* is a middle-aged man with mental disabilities who works at a doughnut shop. Eating doughnuts at his job has caused him to become overweight. His girlfriend, Sheila, lives at another group home. Bulansky is very proud and possessive of a large ring of keys. · *Lucien P. Smith* is a large man who faces extremely debilitating mental disorders. Despite the fact that he cannot read, Smith insists on checking out armloads of books from the library. He is at risk of losing his disability funds, when the state senate accuses him of faking his mental condition. Smith doesn't understand what is around him when he goes to the "State Sneck" resulting in a profound scene. · *Barry Klemper* is a 28-year-old man with schizophrenia who believes he is a pro golfer. He gets highly agitated over small things. This is partly because Barry has had a traumatic life growing up. Later in the story, when Klemper's abusive father visits him for the first time in years, it proves harmful to his mental condition. · *Jack Palmer* is the social worker for the four handicapped men. He's found himself increasingly burned out and is thinking about a new line of work. At the end of the play, Palmer leaves the men and becomes a travel agent. · *Sheila* is Norman's girlfriend. Like Norman, she faces mental disabilities. She is also obsessed with Norman's prized keys and is "no skinny minnie herself". · *Mr. Klemper* is Barry's abusive father.
