The morning workshop will focus on Creating Characters and working with scripts. The scenes will be material for shooting and Working with the Camera in the afternoon. Students have the option of taking either MORNING ACTING Workshop or AFTERNOON FILM Workshop or BOTH Workshops. Each FULL DAY Workshop includes lunch and all workshops are taught by CSU Faculty. Young men needed for Our Town

I am producing a production of OUR TOWN at The United Methodist Church of Chagrin Falls. We are in need of boys for our show....ages 10 to 14... Si Crowell Joe Crowell’s younger brother, Si delivers the newspaper in Act Two. He demonstrates the interplay of change and continuity in Grover’s Corners. Joe Crowell delivers the Grover’s Corners Sentinel to townspeople’s doors. He appears in Act One and in Emily’s flashback in Act Three. Rehearsals are Sunday to Tuesday 7 to 9pm and are as needed, so rehearsal time is not overly demanding. Shot on 16mm Film. Ernest has a crush on Connie, the waitress at the diner he frequents. He just lost his job and only has an old rundown car to his name. All Ernie wants is to find meaning in his mundane life. This is an unpaid, non-union student set, but will provide meals and copy of film. Final Call: Voice Acting Fundamentals class

Hi, everyone. This will be your last reminder that Dan Popp’s Voice Acting Fundamentals class begins March 2nd. Tomorrow (2/21) is the deadline for the $50 discount. As as far as I know, no one has ever paid me for something they didn’t like. So if you enroll in the class and after the first session think, “This isn’t the training I need right now,” I’ll refund your tuition fee. Details: Spring, 2024 Voice Acting Fundamentals! The class will consist of six, 2-hour sessions on Saturday afternoons from 2 to 4pm beginning March 2nd and ending April 13th (we'll take Easter Weekend off). We'll meet at Colors Audio in Akron. What will you learn? Sanford Meisner said that "Acting is behaving truthfully under imaginary circumstances." But here's the typical v/o audition scenario: The client has given you a snippet of a script, exactly two (contradictory) words of direction, no circumstances, and a strong temptation to behave "untruthfully." How do we not only perform that script, but OWN it? I'll show you how to do that. Micro Theater CLE is accepting submissions

Micro Theater CLE is accepting submissions for its first event, May 24-25 at the Brownhoist building. The submission deadline is March 15. Here’s more information: https://www.microtheatercle.com/submissions The micro theater concept started in Madrid before launching in Miami and Buenos Aires, and this will be the first time it's happened in Cleveland (that we know of). At Micro Theater events we produce 10-15 short performances that are staged simultaneously in different rooms throughout the same building. Each show is performed 3-5 times per night, so the audience can see a few short plays in an evening with time in between to chat over beers. Traditional plays, experimental plays, dramas, comedies, physical theater, sketch, clown, burlesque, performance art, and immersive performance are all fair game. Performances should be 15-minutes or less and will be staged in small rooms or site specific spaces inside the Brownhoist (be bold, you can do a lot on a very small stage). If you're excited about it, we'll try and make it work. We have experienced producers, directors, performers you can collaborate with, or you’re welcome to direct and cast the show on your own. And if you’re a director (or interested in trying out directing) and/or an actor and would be interested in being in someone else’s show, let us know!
