The Hare and Tortoise in the greatest race on earth with a nail biting, seconds ticking, medal winning end…Tortoise (can be played by any age/gender)Tortious is wiser than the hare, and feels it’s their responsibility to care for and mentor the young, impatient hare. Tortoise represents someone who also is not afraid to stop and appreciate life’s greatest moments, and not afraid to live life on their own terms and speed.This will be a community and school touring production, so actors should have daytime and weekend availability and reliable transportation. OPEN AUDITIONS: "Don’t Dress for Dinner" a comedy by Marc Camoletti Adapted by Robin Hawdon Bernard is planning a romantic weekend with his chic Parisian mistress in his charming converted French farmhouse, whilst his wife, Jacqueline, is away. He has arranged for a cordon bleu cook to prepare gourmet delights, and has invited his best friend, Robert, along too to provide the alibi. It’s foolproof; what could possibly go wrong? Well… suppose Robert turns up not realizing quite why he has been invited. Suppose Robert and Jacqueline are secret lovers, and consequently determined that Jacqueline will NOT leave for the weekend. Suppose the cook has to pretend to be the mistress and the mistress can’t cook. Suppose everyone’s alibi gets confused with everyone else’s. An evening of hilarious confusion ensues as Bernard and Robert improvise at breakneck speed. The One Of A KIND Theater company seeks male, comedic actors that can sing to complete our cast of “Not a Day Over Fabulous”. The musical is an original comedy about Aging. The show was first performed last spring and raised over 7K for the Alzheimer’s Association. We are delighted to be revising the show this spring, brought back by popular demand! We are an award winning company that creates awareness while raising funds for local charities through musical theater. Rehearsals begin April 21 (5 weeks) and will be held Sunday afternoons along with Monday - Thursday evenings. Performances will be held on Saturday, June 8 and Sunday, June 9. FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: 9 to 5, The Musical • Auditions Lorain Community Music Theater announces auditions for 9 to 5 The Musical, the hilarious story of friendship and revenge in the Rolodex era! Auditions will be held on Sat., March 2, 2024 from 12:45 pm – 2:45 pm and Sun., March 3, 2024 from 2 pm – 4 pm. Casting Paid Actors for The Toothpaste Millionaire

Talespinner Children’s Theatre is holding auditions for actors ages 18 and up The Toothpaste Millionaire, by David Hansen, a world premiere adaptation of the book by Jean Merrill. Character descriptions and casting requirements listed below. While description of roles may fall on the gender binary, performers of any gender identity may audition for any role. Actors of varying body types and disability statuses are encouraged to audition. Rehearsals begin in April, with 3-4 evenings and one weekend day expected weekly. Performances will be May 17-26, with additional school matinees to TBA (will be in place before rehearsals begin) and the possibility of additional performances at the Borderlight Fringe Festival in July. Compensation for the May run of the show will be $400, with additional compensation for those who are able to participate in the Borderlight performances. To audition please submit a video that includes you retelling your favorite children’s story (under 3 minutes). CLEVELAND PUBLIC THEATRE IS HIRING SUPPORTING TEACHING ARTISTS FOR THE SUMMER CPT is seeking *temporary, full-time Supporting Teaching Artists for summer CMHA CAN and STEP programming. *We are looking to build a strong core of artists who are dedicated to creating work to empower young voices, excite creativity, and further racial and economic justice. ------------------------------ CMHA CLEVELAND ACT NOW CMHA Cleveland Act Now (CAN) takes place in partnership with the Cuyahoga Metropolitan Housing Authority (CMHA) at community centers for children and families who live in public housing. Under the guidance of CPT Teaching Artists, young artists learn how to create and perform their own plays, dance, poetry, music, and visual art. These multidisciplinary performing arts activities improve academic skills, instill empathy and responsibility, build character, and enhance creative thinking. The students regularly perform at CMHA community centers as well as arts festivals throughout Cleveland. CMHA CAN is offered in four CMHA communities: Lakeview Terrace, Woodhill Homes, Outhwaite Homes, and Riverside Park. STUDENT THEATRE ENRIChMENT PROGRAM (STEP) Celebrating 30 years of empowering artmaking, CPT’s Student Theatre Enrichment Program (STEP) is an arts-based job training program that engages Cleveland teens in a powerful, 8-week intensive (4 weeks for Tech Team students) that focuses on excellence in performance, play creation, physical theatre, writing, production, and set design/construction. Students aged 14-19, presenting a wide range of performance experience, are eligible for participation and earn money while learning and practicing valuable job skills such as timeliness, communication, commitment, and teamwork. Under the guidance of CPT artists, teens develop an original play and then tour it to public greenspaces, theatres, and community organizations throughout the city of Cleveland. Since its beginning in 1994, STEP has received multiple awards and recognitions, including those from the City of Cleveland, The President’s Committee on the Arts and the Humanities, and the National Endowment for the Arts. STEP is the longest-running arts-based, job-training program in Cleveland and has been utilized as an international model for engaging youth. STEP ensembles, comprised primarily of Black and Brown artists, see themselves as a positive and inspirational force and are able to witness their work’s invaluable impact on the larger Cleveland community. Youth are onsite approximately 6 hours a day during creation and work through an adjusted schedule while on tour. ------------------------------ ------------------------------ SKILLS REQUIRED · Experience in at least one theatre-related arts discipline (dance, drumming, singing, acting, creative writing, etc.) · Experience teaching children and/or teenagers · Ability to travel to multiple sites · Demonstrated ability to be or become a strong role model for Cleveland youth · Energy, responsiveness, flexibility, creativity · Attention to detail, ability to work independently · Ability to lead both small and large group activities · Experience in devising theatre practices/performance OR openness to learning new techniques in the creation of original performance material *CMHA CAN SUPPORTING Teaching artist responsibilities include:* · Completing training schedule (June 5th-June 14th, M-F, 9:00 am – 5:00 pm) · Supporting the successfully implementing curriculum for 6 weeks of CMHA CAN programming from June 17th-July 26th (M-TH from 9:00 am-5:00 pm; F from 10:00 am-4:00 pm) at 3 CMHA Community Center. During programming, youth will build storytelling skills (incorporating body and voice) and community.
