Performing for only one night at the historic Alcazar in Cleveland Heights, *The Medium* marks our second annual Macabaret (cabaret presented in macabre style). There will also be a raffle for some excellent Cleveland prizes. *Entry is free with a suggested donation of $20. The Great Lakes Light Opera (GLLO) Education Department is proud to present, “It’s MY Story! Hansel and Gretel” on Monday November 9th at 6:30pm at the Beachwood Public Library. Come join Wilhelm Grimm of the famous Grimm Brothers and Gretel from Humperdinck’s opera, as the two sing and tell the famous fairy tale “Hansel and Gretel.” The performance is FREE and will be entertaining for all ages. The whole family will be able to sing, act, dance, and play with our team, and will discover a new connection to the famous fairy tale opera. The rest are good - shutter assemblies are tight (but not too tight), barrels hold their position, and yokes lock without dropping. 17 Altman 6x12 360Q - 10 of these are in great shape, and the rest are good. One unit doesn't have a lamp, but the cap metered out, so it should work just fine. All of these units have C-clamp, safety cable, color frame, and lamp of some sort (with the exception of the 1 6x12 - no lamp, but it has the rest of the fixin's). WordStage Literary Concerts presents "Poe And Fiends!" Tales and Poems of Mystery and the Macabre! “I became insane, with long intervals of horrible sanity.” Edgar Allan Poe The Wright Chapel Series at the Lakewood Presbyterian Church – 14502 Detroit Avenue at Marlowe – Lakewood, OH Edgar Allan Poe was best known to his own generation as an editor and critic. His poems and short stories commanded only a small audience. But to some extent in his poems, and to an impressive degree in his tales, he pioneered in opening up areas of human experience for artistic treatment at which his contemporaries only hinted. Readings of the macabre prose and poetry include works by Poe, Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, Charles Baudelaire, Arthur Rimbaud, H.P.Lovecraft, Emily Dickinson, Walt Whitman, Christina Rossetti, Robert Frost, and Ray Bradbury. This spine-tingling compilation of phantasmagoric poetry and prose will be interpreted by members of the WordStage Company - Skip Corris, Marci Paolucci and Tim Tavcar and will be underscored and enhanced by eerie and atmospheric music, played by the Lakewood Presbyterian Church’s resident organist, Michael Petrosh. The “Medina County Variety Show” will light up the night of November 8

*The “Medina County Variety Show” will light up the night of November 8 * Director Andrew Knode will be joined by his “Entertainment Pix” co-host Gary Kiser in introducing the Variety Show’s performers to the excitement and challenge of a live TV production. This will be the first live stage show for the TV production company that broadcasts regularly on local cable channels. Audience members also can look forward to a new experience as they watch the TV style of the event. The production will be staged for the Medina County Arts Council’s 2015 fall fundraiser, titled*“The Medina County Variety Show,” *on Sunday, November 8, at 7 p.m. at the Haddad Theater, in Broadway Hall in Medina. Tickets for the Variety Show are being sold at Buehler’s stores in Brunswick, Wadsworth, and Medina, and at The Medina County Convention and Visitors Bureau on Medina Square. They can also be purchased on line at www.medinacountyartscouncil.org. In addition, tickets may be purchased for a special 2 p.m. show on the same day. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for seniors and students 12 and under. Committee members and Arts Council trustees want to make the Showcase available to many, so ticket prices are kept in an affordable range. According to a committee spokesperson, “In response to the growth of Medina County, the organization’s board of trustees recognizes the need to provide funds for grants that encourage and support growing and needed local arts activities, and our committee appreciates the work to help us by the local TV staff led by Knode and Kiser.“ Extra support for the event comes from local businesses and individuals through program ads, patron contributions, and in-kind donations. Money raised will go toward the current efforts of the Council to increase funding for grants to county non-profit arts organizations, schools, and special arts activities in the county. Experienced and popular performers will include: Jim Gill, James and Heather Kovach, the Medina Centre for Dance Art, Denny Miller and others. The script has been written by Kiser and Knode based on a story by Karl Kiser and Martin Carlton. The Stage Manager and Assistant Director is John Haller. The production is promoted by the Arts Council’s fundraiser Steering Committee: Linda Ingram, Committee Chair; Cindy Allman, Marketing Chair; and Roger Smalley, Ticket Chair. Working with the staff and crew as House Managers are trustees Susan Ungham and Pat Chaloupek. The theater stage is in the County Administration Building at 144 N. Broadway in Medina, with free parking in the lot behind the building where the entrance to the auditorium is located. Ohio Regional Music Arts and Cultural Outreach (ORMACO) opens its 2015-16 World Tour of Music concert series on November 7, 2015 at 8pm at Black River Middle School, 257 County Road 40 in Sullivan with *Russian Duo*, an international project, born out of a love of traditional music and classical elegance. Oleg Kruglyakov, balalaika virtuoso, and Terry Boyarsky, masterful pianist, team up for an exuberant performance of soulful, passionate music. Their collaboration highlights the mysterious sounds of the balalaika underscored by the vast expressive range of the piano. Featuring vocals and Russian percussion, their extensive repertoire draws from Russian folk music, romances, dances, classical music, gypsy melodies and Russian songs. Tickets are $10 in advance and are available from Black River music students, by calling 330-722-2541, online at www.ormaco.org and at the following Buehler’s stores: Forest Meadows and River Styx in Medina; Ashland; Milltown and Town Market in Wooster.
