Arts4life: The Art of Photography Photography Showcase and Reception Sunday, November 1st, 2-4 p.m. Beachwood Public Library 25501 Shaker Blvd Beachwood Ohio For the past eight weeks, a group of twenty older adults (age 50 or older), have explored the art of photography with teaching artist Herbert Ascherman, Jr. Herb has beencreating fine art and professional portraiture for 40 years, specializing in black & white, and is internationally recognized for his work. He has encouraged the students to focus on the artistry of photography and has instructed them on what goes intocreating stunning photography experiences. This special photography showcase is both a celebration of the work they have put in over the past eight weeks and a physical representation of the learning that has taken place at the library during thattime. Each of the participants will display two photographs at our culminating Art Show/Opening Reception event. The showcase and reception is open to all. Refreshments will be served, courtesy of the Friends of the Beachwood Library. Please join us. (Note: Photos will remain on display in the Beachwood Branch meeting room during the month of November)

Travis Pollert Film and Video (travispollert.com) is looking for an elderly couple to play a "Grandma and Grandpa" for an upcoming holiday commercial for an apartment management company. The shoot is on November 3rd and is a full day (specific times TBD). The goal of this project is to create video assets of a family celebrating the holidays together in an apartment home to be used in a commercial for our client. To be considered for the project you must include a video link of a performance of yours as there will be no live auditions. 101 Dalmatians - Children's Production Series at Olmsted Performing Arts

*Starting Monday, November 9 and running for 25 weeks, students will participate in a 1 hour, 15 minute weekly class in which they'll learn performance skills in a fun and educational way while also rehearsing for an exciting musical! At the end of the session, the students will put on a show for an audience to get them accustomed to being on stage! * *Classes will be taught by Lauren Berry, a film acting coach who has received extensive training in Hollywood. * The session runs from *November 9 through May 16* with weekly classes meeting on *Mondays from 6 until 7:15 p.m.* The final performance will take place on *Monday, May 23*. CPT Station Hope Artist Informational Meeting: Call for Artists!

Dear Northeast Ohio Artists, This year, Station Hope will be bigger and better than ever. With support from the National Endowment for the Arts' Our Town grant, Station Hope 2016 will include ROAD TO HOPE: smaller, pop-up performances and community events that will span 4-5 neighborhoods across Greater Cleveland occurring over a 2 month span, culminating in a massive community celebration at and surrounding Ohio City's historic St. John's Church - Cleveland's only authenticated Underground Railroad site, and CPT would like to invite you to be involved. Station Hope 2016 will take place on April 30th, 2016. We are beginning to plan the third annual Station Hope event - a free multi-arts event that celebrates the triumphs of the Underground Railroad, Cleveland's social justice history, and contemporary struggles for freedom and justice. The format of Station Hope includes multiple stages with 10-15 minute pieces performing simultaneously throughout the evening. CPT is looking for artists, performance groups, choirs and organizations to create original work and perform at this powerful event and in various neighborhoods throughout Cleveland during Road to Hope. Performances can range from site-specific plays, actors in character wandering through the event, or your church choir singing. We are also seeking visual artists who are interested in creating community generated art and installations. If you are interested in learning more about Station Hope, you are invited to an informational meeting on Saturday, November 14th at 10am at Cleveland Public Theatre. We will be discussing how Station Hope worked the past two years, how it will grow this year and sharing information about the application process.
