THIS FIRST INTENSIVE WILL FOCUS ON RUSSIAN BALLET(VAGANOVA), MUSICAL THEATRE, CLASSICAL JAZZ & PILATES/DANCE CONDITIONING. Perfect for those Musical Theatre Students striving to enhance their training & prepare for upcoming auditions. Summer Intensive is $240.00 for the entire week. Your student will experience some of the best Summer Dance Intensive training in Ohio. LakeShore Ballet Theatre is a non-profit organization owned by Lakeshore DreamDance School. We are located in Avon Lake, Ohio. Lakeshore Ballet Theatre specializes in Russian Ballet, Modern Dance & Classical Jazz. Our teaching & Administrative Staff consists of highly qualified instructors, who have backgrounds as professional dancers. Our instructors are still currently performing & touring around the United States. Our instructors have their bachelors or Masters Degree in the Fine Arts with extensive training in Russian Ballet. Our instructors range from those who have studied at School of American Ballet in New York City to Marquerite Duncan School of Dance to Baldwin Wallace University right here in our area. We also offer a professional dance training program for students who would like to pursue a career as a professional dancer and/or teacher. Winner of the 4th Annual Ronald M. Ruble New Play Festival, President Mom introduces us to Claire McCallister, a typical teenage girl. She is stressed out about her bio exam and even more about finding a date to her high school's spring dance. This would be tough for anyone to handle, but Claire's mother just happens to be The President of the United States. And when President MOM turns the middle school dance in a national security disaster, Claire must choose between the boy she 'luvs' and a mouth-breathing son of a Senator who might just be the key to world peace. *ACTORS HOPE TO MAKE THE “CUT” FOR AUDITIONS* *FOR BLOODY MUSICAL MASTERPIECE, “SWEENEY TODD”* *Tony-Award winning musical to be directed by Michael Dempsey* SALEM, OHIO – Salem Community Theatre will hold open auditions for the macabre tale of love, murder and revenge: SWEENEY TODD: THE DEMON BARBER OF FLEET STREET on June 7 and 8 at 7:00 PM. The winner of nine Tony awards including "Best Musical, "Sweeney Todd" is the heart-pounding story of an unjustly exiled barber who returns to 19th-century London seeking revenge against the lecherous judge who tore his family apart. Using his silver razors, his thirst for blood expands to include his unfortunate customers, and the resourceful proprietress of the pie shop downstairs soon has the people of London lining up for her mysterious new meat pie recipe! Sophisticated, suspenseful and visceral, "Sweeney Todd" mixes intense drama with moments of dark humor. Audition dates are *Sunday, June 7 at 7:00pm* and *Monday, June 8 at 7:00pm* , with callbacks on Thursday, June 11 at 7:00pm. Auditions will be held at Salem Community Theatre, 490 East State Street, Salem OH 44460. All roles are available. Those auditioning should prepare a brief musical theater song by, or in the style of, Stephen Sondheim. Bring sheet music; an accompanist will be provided. Please do NOT prepare movie, pop or rock show songs, and please do NOT bring tracks. The music is challenging, so choose a song that demonstrates your vocal range and ability. "Sweeney Todd" requires minimal dancing and choreography. Performances are Fridays and Saturdays at 8 PM and Sundays at 2 PM, October 30 through November 8 and rehearsals will begin the last week in August. Rehearsals are typically Sun-Thurs evenings. The Dreamers Modeling Group is teens and tweens who, separated into their own age groups, come weekly to have beautiful pictures taken of themselves. You will work on a variety of topics, such as unlocking your face's potential with lighting designed just to complement your particular bone structure, posing to make your entire self look longer, how to not make your hands look like giant claws, working with other people, and objects, (like all models in product ads have to do), working with a makeup artist and hair people, using objects in nature and on set to maximize your pose, working with the latest fashion paints and gold leaf, and much, much more. You'll find out if you are more of a high fashion model or a commercial model, learn about the modeling industry in general, and see what it really takes to become a model. At the start of each week, you will look at your last week's pictures and each person will have individualized new goals to work toward. The next level is the Dreams Come True Modeling Team. Members will appear on the Barbara Stitzer Photography website, on the blogs that she writes and shoots for, and in her magazine shoots. Guest photographers will come to shoot with the girls as well. Those shoots are always supervised. After that is our highest level, the Dream Team Senior Spokesmodels. My Senior Spokesmodels start in their Junior year, and have the most amazing and creative Senior Pictures of all. As a Barbara Stitzer Photography Spokesmodel, you'll take modeling field trips, model for magazines and blogs, and have the opportunity to earn cold hard cash! LAND OF CLEVE REVIEW: How Lucky Viewers Are to See Brecksville Little Theatre's Bright, Bold 'Seussical the Musical' <http://inthelandofcleve.blogspot.com/2015/04/cleve-review-how-lucky-viewers…> Director Celia Lupton has successfully transferred the spirit and silliness of Seuss to the stage. She nurtures each scene much like Horton nurtures his egg, mingling moments of joy and sadness, despair and discovery into a fine-feathered festival of fun. Lupton has assembled an intriguing ensemble of young and young-at-heart performers to help pull off this fanciful feat. Jarred Nichols is mirthfully mischievous as the Cat in the Hat, relishing each opportunity to pull off a new persona or pass off an old pun. Lindsey Smits (who alternates with Sidney Katona) is a perfectly perky yet polite protagonist as Jojo. Kevin Cline's profound portrayal of Horton is a tender, touching tour de force. Melanie Hauer is a humble, heart-melting Gertrude McFuzz, while on the other side of the next Jessica Hirsh glams it up as glitzy, guileful Mayzie the Bird. Everyone in the cast gets a chance to look "amazing" in the spotlight and (green) ham it up a bit as well. Peggy Newton sings up a storm as Sour Kangaroo, backed up by Ava Hartmann as her Mini-Me. Daryl Kelley is the devilish leader of both soldiers and monkeys, and Chris VanCuren and Judy VanCuren are properly poised as a prominent Who couple. The rest of the super Seuss crew includes Lauren Holbert, Laura Giterman, Amanda Misiak, James Newton, Declan Newton, Juliana Seide, Katya Gillespie, Theresa Jarzembak, Noah Kraig, Elise Hartmann, Savannah Soto, Keely Sajovie, Rebecca Marzloff, Rowan Hauer, Eric Bowler, Rosalie Sajovie, Michelina Sajovie, Bella Porter, Ella Cameratta, and Darby Porter.
