*Actors’ Summit announces auditions * *for its 2015 -2016 season.* The theater’s Mission is to create professional theater using Ohio artists. Our 2015 – 2016 season includes: *Quilters* *10/8-11/1 *Rehearsals begin Sept. 7th; 2015 *( this is a play with music; seeking women who sing and act; and move well, looking for a very diverse cast) * *Guys on Ice* *11/25-12/22* Rehearsals begin Oct 25, 2015 *Same Time Next Year* *1/21-2/7 * Rehearsals begin Dec 15, 2015 *Chapatti 2/25-3/13* Rehearsals begin Jan 25, 2016 *Talley’s Folly 4/14-5/1* Rehearsals begin Mar. 15, 2016 *Tintypes 5/19-6/19* Rehearsals begin April 10, 2016 *(seeking 2 men/3 women who sing and dance. This show is all music and dance. Also looking for a very diverse cast) * All performances are Thursday, Friday and Sat evenings at 8 PM; Sundays at 2 PM. Not all roles are available as some have been precast with members of our acting company. Same Time Next Year and Guys On Ice have been cast. Additional information on the plays is available on the theater’s web site, www.actorssummit.org. Auditions are open to all Equity and non-Equity professionals. Auditioners must be at least 18 years old. Actors are asked to come prepared with 3 copies of their headshot stapled to their performance resume. Actors under 18 will NOT be auditioned. *All performers at Actors’ Summit are compensated. Non-Equity performers are paid on a per performance basis. * *Actors’ Summit is committed to Non-Traditional Casting. But the Count is exceedingly resourceful, employing superhuman strength, psychic powers, and shape-changing to confound and frustrate his antagonists. Culminating in a wild and shocking confrontation between the King of Vampires and those who would rid the world of him, this adaptation is an action-packed, blood-soaked retelling of Bram Stoker's classic tale of horror. Characters (by Appearance) ROBERT RENFIELD, a lunatic of unique appetites and an unfortunate sense of humor. A MONSTER, a vicious supernatural demon; the shape assumed by Dracula when he isn't concerned by appearances. Part zombie, part werewolf, he loves a good chase and is always thirsty. MINA GRANT, a beautiful undead woman in her late twenties. We will se her in various stages of vampirism. MARGARET SULLIVAN, Dr. Seward's loyal assistant. Irish. Tries to conceal her working class roots with an air of propriety. ABRAM VAN HELSING, an older man, still in good physical condition, with a razor mind and an intense interest in the supernatural. DR. THOMAS SEWARD, an intelligent, fine young Englishman in his early thirties. The former fiance of the late Mina Grant. A deeply caring, vulnerable human being. COUNT DRACULA, a brute who revels in the pain and suffering he brings to others. Capable of enormous charm and courtly manners when such affections are called for. THE BRIDES, three Vampiresses with seductive ways and dire purposes. THE CHILD, female, between 7 & 10. Wears a communion dress. NORBERT BRIGGS, an attendant at the asylum. A rough customer; not entirely a brute, but capable of violent behaviorwhen pushed to it. LUCY WESTPHAL, a lovely young Englishwoman. Extremely intelligent, and when not being drained of blood on a regular basis, quite vivacious. JONATHAN HARKER, a young solicitor. Handsome, impetuous, madly in love with Lucy. Rehearsals Rehearsals begin on August 16 and take place five days a week, Sundays through Thursdays, 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Technical rehearsals run on Sunday, September 27 from noon to 9:00 p.m. and Monday, September 28 through Wednesday, September 30 from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Performances Performances will run from October 1 to October 18, 2015, for a total of 12 performances. Director John Davis has performed more than 3000 live stage combat shows in 16 countries with his Comedy sword-fighting show Hack and Slash. As Oberlin College professor of Stage Combat and resident fight choreographer, John has choreographed hundreds of productions in the Cleveland, Ohio market and nationally. John currently directs productions for the Cleveland Shakespeare Festival and has taught and choreographed for Kent State University Stark, Malone College, Baldwin Wallace College, The Beck Center for the Arts and theaters across Ohio. After the events of Sept 11th, John has traveled to 16 countries, including the most remote regions of Iraq and Afghanistan, on six USO tours. At Weathervane, John has fight directed Romeo & Juliet, and both directed and fight directed Holmes: The Art of Deduction, The Taming of the Shrew, Our Town and Hamlet. ###

The Fine Arts Association announces a Call for Submissions for: The 20th Annual One Act Festival - The Originals It's our 20TH ANNIVERSARY! The Fine Arts Association will once again showcase original, never been published 10-minute plays. Those chosen will be fully produced as part of the 20th Annual One Act Festival - The Originals in April 2016 at The Fine Arts Association. Submissions of original ten-minute plays will be accepted beginning August 1, 2015. NEW THIS YEAR: Up to TWO 10-minute submissions will be accepted per playwright. The number of plays to be produced will be at The Fine Arts Association's discretion and will depend on the mix of qualified submissions.
