THE OHIO PREMIERE OF LIKE I SAY, BY LEN JENKIN OPENS THIS FRI, OCT 14 AT CONVERGENCE-CONTINUUM A writer holed up in a seaside hotel is trying to overcome a tragic accident by teasing a story out of himself. He's joined by a wildly bizarre band of hotel staff and guests (a tattoo artist, a slow-moving handyman, two sinister Russian puppeteers, and the writer’s creation himself: Coconut Joe of Kokomo). The assembled band of misfits brings his weird story to life, while creating a few wild ones of their own. LIKE I SAY is an unpredictable, structurally bizarre and strangely comic whirlwind of a play with stories within stories, weird puppet shows, an Alpine zombie resort, and much, much more. A truly wild ride! LIKE I SAY is directed by Tyson Douglas Rand, and features actors Robert Branch, Robert Hawkes, Marcia Mandell, August Scarpelli, Linda Sekanic, Clyde Simon, Lauren B. Come and join us! You'll really enjoy the band! You may even want to get up and dance! :) The cost of the dance is $12 per person or $10 for students and seniors with a valid ID. If you are brand new to the Get Hep Swing dances you may attend for only $5 your first time. Be sure to arrive in time to take part in the easy jitterbug lesson from 8pm to 9pm. Performances by the Cleveland Junior Jitterbugs at 9pm. Come and see the routines they competed with at the International Lindy Hop Championships this past August. After the performances, The Madison Crawl will kick off an awesome night of swing, early rock and roll, jump blues and straight up blues that will get you out of your seat and dancing until 12am. Everyone is welcome to come and have fun with us at the swing dance. There is no need to have previous dance experience or a dance partner. Most people dress casually. The best shoes to wear are comfortable and not too sticky on the bottom. The Lakewood Masonic Temple is located at 15300 Detroit Avenue, Lakewood, Ohio 44107. The Gates Mills Players are presenting *The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee.* Winner of the Tony and the Drama Desk Awards for Best Book this musical has charmed audiences across the country with its effortless wit and humor. Six awkward spelling champions learn that winning (and losing) isn't everything. While candidly disclosing hilarious and touching stories from their home lives, the tweens spell their way through a series of (potentially made-up) words, hoping never to hear the soul-crushing, pout-inducing, life un-affirming "ding" of the bell that signals a spelling mistake. A riotous ride, complete with audience participation! *The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee* will play November 4th thru November 12th, Fridays & Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and with a Sunday Matinee, Nov. 6th, at 2:00 p.m. at the Gates Mills Community House.
