Medina Show Biz Announces Opening of You Can’t Take It with You Medina, OH – On October 14, 2016, Medina Show Biz is excited to open their 36th season with You Can’t Take It with You, a hilarious comedy by Moss Hart and George S. Kaufman, and directed by Frank Lucas. The play will run Oct 14-30, Fridays & Saturdays 7:30pm, and Sundays 2:00p, at the Haddad Theater inside the Medina County Administration Building, located at 144 N. Broadway, Medina, Ohio. Tickets are $12 for adults and $10 for seniors and students 18 and under. Tickets are available at Buehler’s or online at medinashowbiz.org. The plot follows the wacky Sycamore family, headed up by patriarch Grandpa Vanderhof (Charlie Richards). This family blissfully goes through life doing whatever brings them joy. Some of their favorite hobbies include ballet dancing, painting, building fireworks, writing plays, and collecting snakes. Their happy existence is interrupted when young Alice Sycamore (Natalina Kotori) becomes engaged to Kirby & Co. Vice President, Tony Kirby (Andrew Knode). Alice does her best to whip her family into shape to meet the new In-laws over a perfectly “normal” dinner, but disaster strikes when the Kirby’s arrive a day early, to find the Vanderhof/Sycamore clan in all their glory. (Akron, Ohio) Real Edge Dance Company (aka: RED) will present its Sixth Season annual fall concert entitled “PRISM” October 14,15,16, 2016 at the Paul A. Daum Theater in Akron, Ohio. The concert will feature premier modern dance works by RED Artistic Director Kelli Sanford (recent recipient of the 2016 Summit Artspace Arts Alive Award for Outstanding Artist in Dance) and Guest Dance Artist Damien Highfield (professional dancer with Groundworks Dance Theater), as well as the return of two dance works from prior seasons of RED that will be performed by company dancers Kelli Sanford, Chelsea Shump, Mary Vaccani, Darcie Lemons, Karina Browne, Kaylee Behringer. The finale dance work will feature community dancers Brittany Clark, Elaine Dowling, Owen Strasser, Laura Sarafian, Rosylnn McCluskey, Sunday Homitz, and Ana Starzyk in a special collaborative outreach project. “PRISM” will be performed Friday October 14, 2016 at 7:30pm; Saturday October 15, 2016 at 7:30pm; and Sunday October 16, 2016 at 3:00pm.
