When an innocent audience member dies, and three others have close calls, a cop has to find out what they all have in common besides being named, Ann White. Although it often takes upwards of $7,000 to produce some shows, we are offering special rewards for those wishing to offer monetary gifts. Christmas is a humbug! Or it might be if you’re not in our production of A Christmas Carol at Medina Showbiz Company this year. We’re still looking to round out our cast (adults) with your amazing talent (or a reasonable facsimile thereof). Come on, bluff me. The good, adult, juicy roles are still available, so there’s that. This production contains strong language and content. It's Body Awareness Week on campus and Phyllis, the organizer, and her partner, Joyce, are hosting a guest artist in their home. Their family is quickly divided as Frank, a photographer famous for his female nude portraits, settles in. Phyllis is disgusted by his work, but Joyce is rather intrigued by the whole thing. Meanwhile, Joyce's grown son Jared continues to deny his symptoms related to Asperger's Syndrome. Tensions rise as Jared turns to Frank for advice. The New York Times calls this Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle nominee "an engaging new comedy by a young playwright with a probing, understated voice." Beck Center is pleased to welcome David Vegh as he makes his Studio Theater debut directing this smart and generous comedy. He is currently the Assistant Professor in the Department of Theater at Case Western Reserve University. As a member of the Actors' Equity Association (AEA) and SAG-AFTRA, Vegh has appeared onscreen in Saving Private Ryan, Dexter, Grey's Anatomy, and more. "I tend to like plays that walk a very fine line between comedy and drama," remarked Vegh. "If my stomach hurts from laughing so hard and then also be moved to the point of tears, that's my kind of show. That, to me, is life." Body Awareness features a talented cast of four actors ready to bring Baker's play to life. Julia Kolibab and Anne McEvoy appear as partners Phyllis and Joyce, along with Richie Gagen as Joyce's son, Jared. Rick Montgomery Jr. joins the cast as Frank, a guest artist spending Body Awareness Week with the family. Harding - President of the United States, Henry Ford - "The Man Who Put America on Four Wheels" and Thomas Alva Edison - "The Wizard of Menlo Park". A few hours later, with the aid of Secret Service Man Colonel Edmund Starling they emerged from the woods and they were never the same again. This is the story of what might have happened. This Off - Broadway hit is a hilarious adventure with surprising relevance to today's politics and an inside look at three American souls. Final Performances are October 7 & 8 at 7:30 pm. Hospital Seeking Artists to Help Promote Healing

Although art may not be able to directly cure disease or heal the sick, it can elevate moods, make anxiety or pain easier to bear and play a significant role in helping someone recover and heal from illness or injury. That's why Western Reserve Hospital has partnered with Collide: Cuyahoga Falls and ArtsNow of Summit County to provide inspiring artwork from the local creative community. The curated collection will be displayed in Western Reserve Hospital's oncology rooms on an eight- to ten-week rotation, afterwards appearing in an open exhibit in the public access community gallery area, located in one of the hospital's main hallways. “Chemotherapy and other infusion treatments take some time, and for patients undergoing those treatments in the oncology department, we wanted to make their experience more pleasant," said Kathy Romito, Community Relations Manager at Western Reserve Hospital. "By housing a rotating collection of artwork, we're able to provide these patients with not only a nice change of scenery, but also motivating, hope-inspiring pieces of art that can help them heal emotionally while they’re being treated physically." This partnership’s goal is to enhance the environment for the oncology patients. Exposing them to the healing power of art provides the patients with positive energy that assists in the healing process. This project will also provide local artists the opportunity to exhibit their artwork to the community. Call for Artists If you are interested in participating in the curated art showcase, the next deadline for submission is Nov. 1, 2016, with subsequent submission dates every eight to ten weeks after that. The next installation will be mid-December. Art may be for sale, and the artist(s) will receive the full payment for their sale. Huge collection of theatre items for sale: I am selling off the lot of theatre items I have. This includes costumes, props, wireless mics. Child costumes through adult sized. Many flowing dresses as well. Some of the major shows we did were: Beauty and the Beast, Jr Willy Wonka, Jr The Wizard of Oz Annie, Jr The Sound of Music There are also some items for Music Man. Many many smaller productions as well... I am willing to sell the whole lot for $500. It is worth well over $3000 since there are also wireless mics. I am happy to donate the whole lot for a $3000 tax write off to a theatre that offers that. I do not want to separate the lot as I need the whole lot gone for a house sale. Too many items to list!
