Happy to share that Eve 'n' Stephen will be singing & playing at The North Union Farmer's Indoor Market at Shaker Square NEXT Saturday, February 21, 9 am - noon.We LOVE playing the NUFM. Sunday, February 22, 2-3- pm, we will be performing for the Beachwood Arts Council at The Beachwood Community Center. Free and open to the public, all ages appropriate and there WILL be refreshments :):) So get ready for some toe-tapping, finger-snapping good energy as we come out of semi-hibernation with new songs and renewed energy. Wandering Aesthetics is proud to announce the next Electric Pressure Cooker Cabaret – a monthly “Anything Goes” Open Mic–style Cabaret. The Electric Pressure Cooker will be held on Saturday, February 20, 2016 at 8 pm at None Too Fragile Theater inside Pub Bricco, located at 1841 Merriman Road in Akron, Ohio. The Electric Pressure Cooker is open the public. Tickets are $10 for audience members and $5 for performing artists. Artists can pre-register for a performance slot when purchasing their tickets. All proceeds will go to: The Electric Pressure Cooker… presents Bigger than a Breadbox is one of Akron’s 58 finalists for the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation’s Knight Arts Challenge Grant. If Bigger than a Breadbox is selected, Wandering Aesthetics will need to raise $75,000 in matching funds. Winners will be announced in April. Started in the basement of a flower shop, it is an artist driven event that sees over 100 audience members, 30 performances and 6 non-stop hours of art. Registration for performers begins at 7:30 pm. An emcee, house drum kit and sound system (with operators) are provided. Willy Kollman – Torchbearers Class of 2014 – is this month’s emcee. ALL varieties of acts are encouraged to perform. Previous acts have included: monologues, acoustic musicians, play readings, comedians, experimental art, dancers, scenes from plays, improv, devised work, full rock bands and performance artists. But the sky is the limit; no art is too taboo for the #EPCooker! ALL levels – from beginner to the most experienced – are encouraged to perform. Those under 18 are permitted to attend (and perform!) with adult supervision. The #EPCooker is not just an Open Mic. It is an open and welcoming community of artists. It is also a great networking event, a great place to improve stage presence and a great place to develop as an artist. Pub Bricco has a full bar and a wide selection of food. Food and alcohol are permitted in the theatre. About Bigger than a Breadbox: Building on the success of Wandering Aesthetics’ reoccurring Electric Pressure Cooker Cabaret, Bigger Than a Breadbox (BTB) draws inspiration from Akron’s historic ties to vaudeville. Using this vaudevillian blueprint, BTB will be a dynamic quarterly event that celebrates artistic excellence and unites audiences through affordable access to a revolving lineup of high quality performers.
