He is a theater faculty member at Baldwin Wallace University and Tri-C West, and was the lead instructor for the "alphabet" and writing programs at The Second City, Cleveland. A graduate of Kent State University, Fred's directing credits include Cleveland Public Theatre, Dobama Theatre, TitleWave, Charenton Theater Company, The Second City Cleveland, Chagrin Valley Little Theatre, TrueNorth, Clague Playhouse, and Tri-C West. As an actor, he has performed at The Cleveland Play House, Great Lakes Theater, Dobama Theatre, The Beck Center, Cain Park, The Second City Cleveland, The Ensemble Theatre, and as a cast member of Something Dada. A member of AEA and SAG-AFTRA, he has appeared in numerous commercials and such films as The Dream Catcher, and Pirates with Leslie Nielsen, Eric Idle, and Rodney Dangerfield. FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Auditions for Rabbit Run Theaters 2016 Summer Season Audition appointments are now being taken for the 2016 summer season at Rabbit Run Theater in Madison, Ohio. The productions for the summer are You Cant Take It with You, Thoroughly Modern Millie, Carousel, a Concert and The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged). Auditions run three weekends, Mar. 5 and 6 for You Cant Take It with You, Mar. 12 and 13 for The Complete Works of William Shakespeare and Mar. 19 and 20 for the musicals, Thoroughly Modern Millie and Carousel, a Concert. You Cant Take It with You is a comedy by Moss Hart and George S. Kaufman. Show dates are June 3 through June 18. The Sycamore family live moment by moment for the sheer joy of living. A little quirky and off the wall, they meet the world head on, eyes unflinching. The apple cart is upset when granddaughter Alice falls for Tony Kirby, son of Anthony P. Kirby, one of the countrys most wealthy and powerful men. Multiple roles are available for men and women, ages 18 to 75. The show is directed by Ann Hedger. Auditions are Saturday, Mar. 5, and Sunday, Mar. 6, 1 to 4 p.m. both days. Auditions will consist of reading from the script. Actors need not prepare a monologue. The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged) written by Jess Borgeson, Adam Long and Daniel Singer, runs from Aug. 12 through Aug. 28 . This fast-paced comedy performs excerpts from all 37 of Shakespeares plays in 97 minutes. It is Londons longest-running comedy having run for nine years in Londons West End. Multiple roles are available for men and women, ages 16 and up. The show is directed by Mark Cipra. Auditions are Saturday, Mar. 12, 3 to 5 p.m. and Sunday, Mar. 13, 2 to 5 p.m. Actors will read from the script and do not need to prepare a monologue. Thoroughly Modern Millie with lyrics by Dick Scanlan and music by Jeanine Tesori, opens June 24 and runs through July 10. Production dates for Rodgers and Hammersteins Carousel, a Concert are July 22 through Aug. 6. Thoroughly Modern Millie recounts the story of young Millie Dillmount as she arrives in New York City with nothing but big dreams to find a wealthy husband. Set in the roaring twenties, the show is filled with flappers, dashing leading men and a villainess people love to hate. Billy Bigelow, the lead in Carousel, a Concert, is a carefree carnival barker who captivates and marries naïve Julie Jordan. Amidst hard luck and rash decisions, life takes some hard turns for Billy until a second chance makes all the difference. Multiple roles are available for both musicals for men and women, ages 15 and up. The director for both shows is Brint Learned. Musical direction for Thoroughly Modern Millie is provided by Danielle Jones, and musical direction for Carousel, a Concert is provided by Alex Ulle. Auditions for the musicals are Saturday, Mar. 19, from 3:00 to 5:30 p.m. and Sunday, Mar. 20, 1 to 5 p.m. Actors auditioning for the musicals should be prepared to sing 16 measures of a Broadway-style song. Chagrin Valley Little Theatre presents the dark comedy END DAYS on February 19 at 8 PM for six performances Friday and Saturday nights through March 5. Directed by Theresa Marzullo of Aurora, Deborah Zoe Laufer’s witty two-act play offers both humor and compassion as it explores the dynamics of modern family life in the wake of the 9/11 tragedy. With Armageddon seemingly bearing down on them, the Steins discover what they hold most sacred. Ren Harris, a Kent resident, plays the part of Rachel Stein, a rebellious sixteen-year-old who is having a bad year. Her deeply depressed father (Scott Stachiw of Chagrin Falls) lost his job after 9/11 and hasn’t changed out of his pajamas since then. Although Jewish, Rachel’s mother (Brenda Redmond of Twinsburg) had an epiphany and has begun a close, personal relationship with Jesus (Andrew Gordon of Hudson.) Adding to the plot, Rachel’s new teenage neighbor Nelson Steinburg (Travis Reilly of Cleveland Heights) dresses up like Elvis, is passionate about science and Stephen Hawking, and is in love with Rachel. With the apocalypse due to arrive on Wednesday, Rachel’s only hope is that Hawking (also played by Gordon) can save them all. “I want to focus on the relationships between the characters and how each was affected by the tragic events of 9/11,” Marzullo said. “At the same time, I’m bringing out the discord in the family and how each member comes together with the help of a ‘savior’ in the form of a nerdy, quirky, but good-hearted neighbor boy. END DAYS is a black comedy which, although dealing with a serious subject like the possible end of the world, finds humor in it all." This February we're pleased to have Rachel Baird Rudisill, Tom Hayes, Arwen Mitchell, and Katie Walker writing brand new 10-minute plays. The Manhattan Project is a low-stakes, nonthreatening place for actors and playwrights to meet and work together. Based on the Theatre Lab model taught at the Carnegie Mellon School of Drama and inspired by The Brooklyn Generator in New York, The Manhattan Project wants to introduce Cleveland actors and playwrights to each other by organizing a bi-monthly production of brand new 10-minute plays. Participating artists will meet early in the month and will be broken into teams, each with one playwright. The playwright will then be given a writing prompt to write a new 10-minute play based on the prompt and including all the team's actors. The rest of the evening the team members will get to know each other and get a feel for each other's skills and voices. The teams will reconvene later in the month to perform these plays for each other. These 10-minute plays are not an end in themselves. Through these small collaborations we hope to build relationships between the two most vulnerable artists in theatre; the actors who put themselves on stage and the playwrights who pour themselves onto the page. Perhaps these 10-minute plays will grow into longer works or maybe these collaborations will become partnerships on larger projects. A sort of modern day Ulysses. Sort of Frasier-like with a hint of John Lithgow’s Dick Solomon; comical because he takes himself so seriously. *Martha Gillette:* Gillette’s mother, a smartly dressed, somewhat vague and dithering woman in her mid-70s. *Felix* *Geisel*: histrionic and arch in a Lionel Barrymore/Sir Toby Belch sort of way. *Madge Geisel:* flamboyant and wry in a Rosalind Russell smart-mouthed-gal- about-town sort of way. *Simon Bright:* 25ish, Sweet and enthusiastic, a charmer. * Aggie* *Wheeler*: 25ish, beautiful, bright-eyed and full of spunk. *Inspector Goring:* 40’s ish, eccentric and one of a kind. One minute she seems wry and clever, the next minute she’s off into a world of her own. She gets things wrong without even knowing it, yet she also seems just the sort of person who can find you out when you’re lying. That makes her formidable. *Daria Chase:* gorgeous, glamorous. She’s one of those people you can’t take your eyes off of; and despite all of her show-biz cattiness, you can’t help liking her-or at least admiring her. She has a sense of humor and has invented herself from the ground up, which is no mean feat. I am not really married to any ages… so long as the actors can portray or suggest the age/characteristic of the characters. So, I guess I am saying it is a suggestion of age in the script for me. Posting again due to a typo: I am currently casting for a 30 second commercial for a local physicians office. This is non-paid, but you will be able to get a copy of the commercial for your reel. It will be shooting in Twinsburg, OH on the morning of February 10th, 2016. It will air on local channel 3 WKYC for an undetermined amount of time. It will also be on the companies website.
