Ushers are responsible for assisting the House Manager to create a safe and pleasant experience for all Ensemble patrons. - Ushers arrive ONE HOUR before showtime and remain throughout the entire performance. - BEFORE THE PERFORMANCE, ushers will attend mandatory orientation with the House Manager on duty, prepare show programs, welcome patrons to the theater, tear tickets, distribute play programs, and assist patrons with any seating issues. - DURING INTERMISSION, ushers direct audience members to the lobby and/or restrooms and keep patrons off the stage. - AFTER THE PERFORMANCE, ushers straighten the house, including collection of show programs and trash left behind by patrons. Personality/Attire Requirements Ushers must be able to professionally and cheerfully represent the Ensemble to the public. The attire requested for your ushering duties is business casual. Ushers should also have a passion for theater and be at least 16 years of age. When To Arrive Ushers are scheduled to arrive one hour before showtime. You are providing a critical service to our patrons and staff, so please arrive on time, which at Ensemble is one hour before the curtain of the performance you are ushering for. Bring sheet music already in your key. An accompanist will be provided. Singing without accompaniment is highly discouraged. There will not be a Dance Call UNTIL callbacks. If possible, please bring a resume’ and headshot. Neither are required for the audition, but are helpful if you have them. Even a small picture is useful to us. Note: Pictures cannot be returned!* *Equity/Non-Equity**: Two (2) AEA contracts will be offered for each show. “Heathers” operates under a Special Appearance Contract (no health weeks) and “Billy Elliot” operates under a Tier One Guest Artist Contract (Health included.) Each contract is anticipated to be 11 weeks. Also, all Non Equity performers ARE compensated with a modest stipend for their participation. You must be 18 years old at the time of the closing performance to qualify for a stipend. The successful candidate will teach acting courses for BFA in Acting, BA in Theatre, and BM in Music Theatre students; teach additional courses in area of expertise (i.e., on-camera, stage combat, devised theatre, *commedia*, Alexander, etc.); recruit for the BFA in Acting; advise students; service on department and university-wide committees is expected. Art Exhibit by Milan Kecman at Spotlights Theater

SPOTLIGHTS THEATER TO HOST ART EXHIBIT BY RENOWNED ARTIST MILAN KECMANDURING THE COFFEEHOUSE PRODUCTION OF “DURANG / DURANG” The Broadview Heights Spotlights Community Theater is proud to share the works of Milan Kecman during its Coffeehouse show “Durang/Durang”, February 5-13, 2016. Mr. Kecman uses a wide variety of styles to bring a unique vision to each project. He has worked in scratchboard with color wash added digitally as well as painting in acrylics and oils. He draws from early influences in mythology, folk tales and Aesop’s fables, making frequent use of allegory and humor which could be described as “visual storytelling. A BFA graduate of the Cleveland Institute of Art, Mr. Kecman has also worked as a graphic designer and art director. He pursued a career in illustration and worked as a freelance illustrator until 1995 when he began working as an editorial artist with The Plain Dealer. No longer with the paper, he is currently devoting time to exploring new creative directions. Milan Kecman has exhibited at several local art festivals (juried), and has won many awards. He is active in the Northern Ohio Illustrators Society, where he served as an officer. He is also a member of various community art groups. The exhibit will be available for viewing during the run of the show, Fridays, Saturdays and Thursday 7:00-9:30PM and Sunday, February 7 from 2:30-5:00PM. His works are available for purchase. There will be a complimentary beverage bar (non-alcoholic) during the exhibit. Admission to the coffeehouse show is optional but encouraged; tickets may be purchased at the door. Durang/Durang is a collection of six one-act plays by renowned American playwright, Christopher Durang, best known for writing outrageous and often absurd comedies. Luscious desserts will be available for purchase during an extended intermission. Tickets: $13 for adults; $12 for seniors and students. The show contains adult themes and language.
